Yeah, but as we've seen just recently in the CBT3 info that's surfacing. They're attempting to have the damage/effects be different to an actual player as opposed to a mob. I think that'll make for a totally new pvp experience.

Ya, I read that and thought, 'How much of a pain in the butt, yet such a good idea.'

Send a message via ICQ to Flagros
Seems like the chanter is very popular in CBT3.
In this screen there isn't a cleric but a chanter : D

What hypes me the most in this screen is the number of skills presented on these three bars at the central bottom of the screen. It looks... promising . Especially when You take into account that this dude's chanter is only lvl 28. Who know how many other skills he'll get until lvl 50?

And "yes" I realise that not all of those are skills but compared to other screens their number is still impressive .

Chanters remind me of a hybrid of Prophet/SwordSinger/BladeDancer from L2. And from a CBT3 PvE video it looks like it has the "fun-ness" of a bladedancer. *Skills, Somewhat DPS* I love SwordSinger/BladeDancer but it just gets old when you want to kill things but you really can't until properly geared. But that is the definition of a buffer/support class. ASSIST/DISABLE?/BUFF. But with the stigma system and extra stats/abilities on weapons i'll find a way to make a BATTLE CHANTER! =)

I hate to make an analogy to WoW... but I feel these will be the Shaman. Like on the first page... Jack of all trades, master of none, skilled at all. However, I bet once they are "up to par," there will be a way to exploit them to become a very powerful force. Once again, just like the Shaman in WoW (before the ner***e and total rearrangement of classes).

Wow, that's a rez. Anyway, we hashed this out on another thread, too tired to look right now. I think we generally agreed that the chanter didn't have enough straight up power to be on shaman level. The chanter is not really as diverse of a class as the shaman, but if a chanter had enough patience and the right amount of planning, along with a few stigmas, they might be comparable to a mid-level shaman. A shaman could be spec'ed out to be a mage killer/dpser, while a chanter is mostly buff with some mid-level melee dps and spells.

Only thing to do is...learn to play with what you've got and don't expect the devs to help you out.
Well written and logical post here.

Well done!

This thread is nearly a year old. I'm kind of sad to see what I wrote a year ago and see the information we have now and...not much has changed. People -still- say that Chanters are nerfed. Sad sad sad...

So let us be the underdog, and play the class well so that people want us But I see your point, and it`s sad, but still it makes me want to play the class even more for some reason <3

Yesterday while playing, i saw a Templar twoshot a Sorcerer that was equal lvl.

Thank good i did not choose that class :P, if you get oneshotted by the tanking class, it's not even going to be remotely fun when your up against invisible Assassins.
