Arrow Indirect Healing Buff?

I have been reading through these chanter forums for the past couple of days and have found some really good info regarding our class. I'd like to thank all of you who are contributing your time to get some great info out to the masses. After reading all these posts I now know that:

1. Chanters are the strongest, fasted, and overall best class to pwn noobs in the abyss 1v1 or 1v100.
2. We have the ability tank/heal/dps all better than any other class so we can pretty much beat the game solo .
3. If you played OBT to lvl 11 you are a chanter expert and can use your experience to flame posts down to a smoldering pile of ashes!

Haha JK that was fun though . Anyway my real question here is that I have been reading about this recent pvp dmg reduction by 50% (not sure what it was before 20%?) I didn't see anything about our heals being nerfed as well so does that mean that chanter healing in a pvp situation will be quite a bit more effective?

Our heals do not increas at all. If we heal for 600 a Cleric heals for 1.3k. We use our HoTs to heal for mass amounts. The buff you speak of slows down the casting of our heals not lower the heal amount.

He's not talking about Rage Spell, he is talking about the fact that players deal less dmg to other players than they would an NPC with the exact same stats. In 1.0 this reduction was ~25%, in 1.5 it is now ~40% or so.

So yes, it is a somewhat indirect boost to our healing, but it affects Clerics too so the disparity remnaims the same.

I believe the point the OP was trying to discuss was not about the Rage stigma buff. I believe he was referring to the PC damage reduction in pvp. Granted all damage in pvp was reduced by 50% I saw no effect on heals being reduced by 50%. Basically we still heal for our same amount in pve and pvp we just hit for 50% less damage.

If you take less damage while still being able to heal for the same amount then yes.. that is an indirect buff to the whole chanter class
(but also for the cleric.. which is already an OP class atm)

Hmm I think if you said clerics to all of these I would actually believe it

It is a slight pillow for us against burst non healing classes for sure.

Yeah I didn't mean this to be about the rage stigma thing (not even sure what that is still need to read up about stigmas). I meant this to be about the damage reduction in pvp combat. I just didn't see anyone discussing that. So from my understanding people are doing 40% or 50% (instead of around 20% less like it was previously) less dmg in pvp and we are still healing the same as we always have, our heals should def be more effective in pvp. This seems significant to me because I didn't want to roll a chanter and then not be able to heal through some burst dmg. I also thought this was an interesting way to balance pve v pvp instead of a resilience type stat on gear like in wow.

This would make Chanter even more viable for 1v1 combat now.
But it also means that the fights will last even longer... chanter fights are pretty long as well and if the other person pots its even worse.
(the chance for them getting away is higher as well.. but i like survivability > killability )

The longer pvp fights will take some getting used to for me. Coming from wow arenas where you could burst someone down very quickly this system will be an interesting change. One thing I was wondering about is whether or not we get a snare at any point? From what I hear we dont so that will suck if you are beating on someone for 5+ minutes and they simply run when they are low. I need to study up on chanter abilities and stigma skills

The only snares we got are the onc linked to our melee attack (which only lasts a few seconds and needs to be reapplied) and the snare component added to Aion Armory Spell, which also only lasts a few seconds but prevents your opponent from using skills.

Your other option are to add Godstones later on with root or snare/slow (the root that procs with a Godstone doesn't break on damage btw)

I know the offensive root bit is off topic, but don't forget the staff knockdown on crit. Boosting crit rating will make a huge difference in your ability to beat people to a bloody pulp.
