Buffing players

I havnt seen this question asked in any of the closed beta's over in korean currently.

Thought id throw it up for discussion anyway.

Can chanters buff players outside of their partys? I know it might sound stupid but a lot of games only allow you to buff your party , even in some cases you can only cast a buff on your party inside a raiding group.

There is a big difference in being able do buff only your group and anyone within range out of party.

I think buffs just trigger on allys in your party, but why don't we ask a beta player?^^

I'm assuming that most/some of the chanter's buffs are single target and they can be used to buff other players outside or inside your party; and that you have certain party skills/buffs that can only be used in a party or something of that sort o.o

Good question Azza. And before people start speculating their little hearts out ---- Any CBT'ers care to offer up a response?

Sai got it right. See Mark's journal vids for proof of a priest type char healing and buffing him without grouping with him.

The auras are probably for party members only since there is a 10 metre radius limit on which characters get buffs while other buffs (which similar to L2 prophet buffs) can probably be used whether or not the characters are in the same party or not.

Can chanters buff players?

I'm fairly certain that in development terms, it's easier to buff a class, or items, than it is to buff the actual players who are sitting at a keyboard. There are many reasons for this, but mainly it is because brain-spores are a lengthy and painful process. It would also probably cost a lot more than $15 a month.

i imagine general buffs(increase attack increase defense etc...) will be available to anyone party or not Auras are party only and your 30 second buffs are on a single player only as the cooldown i believe is 30 seconds on these. In lineage2 certain buffs you must be in party to avoid certain exploits in PVP i.e. Give resist holy damage to your players and give holy weapon to your enemies. I imagine once exploits are found there will be changes as to wether or not certain buffs are party only.

LOL time to set up buff shops lol...

35k lvl 40 prophet buffs. jaja.

That would be beneficial to chanters imo. Easy to make some quick cash while farming.

So do you think that real chanters (IE, non-boxed) will have trouble finding groups? That would make me a sad panda, because it's the class I really want to play.

I'd say if you have trouble finding a group, make your own. People who have bot buffers will probably be taking them with them to solo or to do guild related activities, static parties or raids. Your standard pick-up-party is probably not going to have a botted buffer or healer.

I suppose a live buffer is also always helpful in the RvR situations.
