i was gonna box assassin/chanter regardless of buffs, with the way they're looking from the video i posted they can solo pretty well and they are not going to be the prophet clone i though they'd be from L2, so might just solo one all together and level another class later...most likely not an assassin.

IMO the way they are looking now compared to a couple other classes make them seem OP right now, then again thats my speculation of watching one video and comparing them to lots of other class videos ive seen.

but doesnt prevent them from being boxed and invited to party every 25 minutes. L2's buffers have 20 minute buffs, and you are atleast 500% more efficient with buffs, and I would say another 250% efficient with the lvl 78 buff...and everyone on retail has their own buff bot.

Maybe if they turn out to be more like L2's WC than PP they'll have a chance to get into a party. With a powerful short time buff like CoV at level 50 or something like that.

In L2 it takes ages to level up and you can't solo for crap. This isn't L2, you might take more time leveling the chanter first and then leveling your main than leveling your main directly.

I think since c5 more people box WC's than PP's. All buffers in L2 get the uber 5 minute buff, it doesnt stop anything, the only difference is u gotta make the buff bot follow you around rather than teleport to a town for buffs.

Having a shorter leveling time will just make boxed ones easier and more viable, anybody will be able to get one, compared in L2 where some people might be turned off by the idea of having to level 2 chars in that long grind.

Also most boxed buffers are shared by a group of friends, or if you have a buffer in your clan and you know his info, you are gonna log it when you need buffs for something.

IMO chanters should be a bard style buffer, just with about 10 buffs.

L2 made a mistake by letting players duel-boxing characters, how fun is that. I think if NCSoft has learned anything from any game they have created, it would be to ban duel-boxing like they already stated they might with their dedicated GM staff that L2 didn't and continues not to have.

2boxing = more accounts, same with botting, they had a short sighted idea that the game wouldnt be popular in NA, and that bots/boxing/ebay = more money than quality of gameplay.

Regardless if you are from North American or not, I am not the only person who believies boxing should be banned.

You can dual box Aion already =|, I don't think they change it, as Calindor says, dual box = two accounts = 2x money.

Anyway, the CoV thing I said it for PvP, siege and raids. you can't box a WC without getting it killed in like two seconds. For PvE I guess chanters can level up alone, and it's only 50 levels, and so if they have a really strong party buff (that's why I mentioned WC), they'll get a party when the fun part is coming and live chanters won't be replaced by buffpets.

Yeah I know you cant play them in PvP, but making them readily/easily boxed will mean a lot of people prefer to level their own, and that will cause problems in the world and decrease the numbers of chanters when they are all trying to find parties but people prefer to box their own.

They can solo pretty well... :P And I guess the mantras will be good so you'll want to have them in party, and it's better a live chanter hitting hard than just a following pet... Well but they can hit with Macros... I don't know =|

Make it so that if the Chanter leaves all the buffs wear off...

This would be an overkill in case of any disconnect. Upsie... Chanter got DC? No buffies for you!
Quite frankly I don't care if Chanters will be boxed or not - if someone prefers to run around alone in MMO... well... his own decision.
That will leave people who CARE to play with others (be it RL friends, clanmates, or randoms) to do their part and speed up the party matching process.

Besides - ANY live buffer/debuffer/CC/healer character >>>>>> boxed one.

And yes, I'll play Chanter. And most propably be clanless.

Having a leech in a game where you can get top level in around 200 hours doesn't sound quite effective to me. It will probably be more effective to have another live DPS class user doing damage than having a chanter doing nothing but to buff, let's remember chanters add some decent damage, having it in autofollow sounds more like a waste of party spot than like something necessary.
