Battle Chanter .
I don't want to be dragged around like a slave, for buffs and such, and I want to be able to fight on my own . I will bow down to NO Daeva, and I will show everyone what a chanter can really do . (: __________________ ![]() Son of Israphel.

I plan to use all the stigmas I can for increasing my DPS, and then complain when I can't out-dps an assassin.
................ In all seriousness, I like the idea of specializing in whichever tends to keep a group alive. I'm hoping for a bit of AoE for the class, even if it's minimal, (Say, 30% as effective as the most effective AoE), because as situational as AoE's are for healing classes, those situations have always been my favorite. Failing the AoE, I love all types of highly situational abilities, which is why I'm considering the class as much as I am. But I digress as I reminisce... won't bore you with stories of my past, here. I'll wait until you're tied down in a chair. __________________ My signature fail'd hard. |

I guess it depends how the class turns out. I'd like to think I'd mix it up a bit - maybe get a bit more up close and personal with a solo build, but drop back to a more supporting role when playing in a group. But then it depends how it plays; if it turns out that supporting is dull and not very 'interactive', then I'll definitely get more aggressive!
If it's possible to be a jack-of-all-trades and make it work well though, then that's the role I'll be playing. I love the idea of being to do a bit of everything! __________________

i originally voted battle chanter but i actually think i might go support chanter with stigmas towards my nukes so i am a support class with support DPS and disables. the big issue will be in mass PVP chanters will buff and any dps will most likely not be melee as it appears they will be a cloth armour class so they far to squishy. In 1v1 pvp hope that your enemy doesnt have buffs and you should be on a decently even playing field. the chanters buffs make up for a lack of natural ability given to the other classes. this is the one class that will actually come down to the human skill in combat. If i can debuff/damage my enemy enough before they get to me that my dps will be enough to win then its all good. the onyl problem here will be mages and rangers but in this case your disables and defensive buffs should give you a fighting chance. I am very interested to see how people play the in game

As much as i'd love to support other players, i also want to be able to be useful to my self too. I want to be strong enough to last a long time in battles and still have really good buffs to support me and others players.

Chanters don't really have nukes or magic attacks, their skills are very much physical and melee based with attatched debuffs to nearly every attack skill, therefore making me battle chanter.
I enchant my gears with increased weapon block / parry to go with the parry buff, HP because of the fairly low HP pool and weapon attack. For PvP situations I'd whip out the shield to have further blocks to reduce physical damage to scratches and PvE I'd pick the staff for faster slaying. I'd usually wear chainmail for the best defence, but I'll keep a set of magic resisting robes to live through sorcerer's nukes and chase them as they run in terror when their mana has been all but spent up. |

Battle Chanter. However, I wouldn't be a pure battle chanter (adding only stigmas to battle skills) best thing to do is to try and keep it balanced. As a chanter you're a secondary healer (there are already clerics for full healing), in my opinion your healing skills are somewhat less important than battle skills, but still importantfor a chanter in general.

I feel that the heals are just for when you really need them like during a raid or really long faction war. But the main job for a chanter is probably help debuff the other classes. Doing that might take some synergy with the other classes since your not all that tanky and not all that evasive.
My ideal chanter build, Mace with either a paralyze or slow weapon proct and either attack speed or critical attributes. Shield/Chainmail with hp/defense bonuses. Stigmas that will help in attack speed/debuffs. Does anyone know if chanters have a skill that reduce physical defense like dark elves' hex in lineage 2? __________________ ![]() |

There are three skills that debuff a fixed amount, that I can think of. All are tied to attacks and two are second tier chain skills. They all debuff a fixed amount, rather than percentage. Each lasts about 5-8 seconds so they have to be used continuously, but they are basically spammable.

As of right now its best to make a Battle Chanter until the Dev's make the chanters buffs more effective in a party. When they do that it will be easy to switch your toons roll, All it takes is changing out your gear with different enchants and maybe stigma stones.

There really is no such thing as a support chanter. Most buffs that can effect others are 60 minutes or greater in duration, by level 30 there is only one exception and it is a stigma skill that isn't very useful, takes 1/8th of your mp, and lasts for 15 or 20s.
There are some good short term buffs, but they can only be cast on yourself. "support chanter" would just be a chanter that stood by and tried to back up heal. It's just silly, especially when you gain mp faster while attacking mobs b/c of other skills. |
