I haven't seen a difinitive answer on this so I'll ask here.

How are medals distributed in a siege?

I've seen many answers ranging from, I get 2 for just being there, to I've never ever gotten a single thing, or the mad dps sins and sorcs get them all so you have to ask nicely if they'll share.

Do chanters have trouble getting medals?

Iirc, at least on the 1.0 Version on C-Aion, it is very much based on damage dealt.
But then I am really unlucky in general, I either lag out and I never got an e-mail with even contribution points for any siege I was part on (despite healing and doing damage).

However for a chanter with our hp pool it's not a good idea to go close to the boss, just the ae alone almost kills me..I pretty much constantly run in and out with heals in between. It's hard to time properly for me too since I see the effect go off a bit later due to lag and the blast already hit. So yeah, I think it might be quit tough to get medals with the current mechanic..

However, someone correct me if I am mistaken.

I've gotten many silvers on my chanter, but never any gold medals (i don't want them anyway - yet ).

However, as Kandrah said, most guardians have nasty aoe abilities that WILL kill you. A few well placed kisks does the trick here though, you just have to make sure not to be dead when it goes down.

Sometimes it does bug out and you don't get a mail with anything at all. This is the same for all classes though.
