[Guide] How to pay for your Chinese Retail account.

Aion has completely gone into Retail, and this guide is now updated to summarize how you can pay for your Aion account

**As far as I know the official SDO charge system still do not accept credit cards, if that changes someone let me know please :3**

The guide now contains only 1 seller, this is because A). They work and B). I'm to lazy to look for others. The seller have a english website, and they can communicate quite well. Alot of players here have already recommended them, so I see little reason why we shouldn't stick with them.

Getting a card
The Card Seller CN-US offers a automatic charging system here: CN-USA, a number of us have tried it already, and it works very well, it is usually processed within 15 minutes.

Checking your charge history
1. Login here: SDO Login


2. Once you are logged in, goto this link: History
3. Follow the next picture

Checking how much time you have left
You cannot check your game time without logging into the game.
As soon as you log into the game, you should see the following message:


The red boxed area shows your remaining time, in the format of XXHoursXXMinutes, here the message shows 46Hours and 34Minutes

You MUST be using the Chinese UI to see this message, the announcement does not appear correctly under the english UI

Official Rates

All money units are in RMB, to check out what thats worth to you currently, google "xxxRMB in USD", substitute xxx with actual number

$1RMB = 100 Points, Each point = 75 Seconds of game time
There are no discounts for paying a huge amount at a time

Yeah i'm waiting for the US/EU version as well, but its too addictive lol, espeically since there are english translations. Anyway some people asked for a guide so I wrote one, the steps are kind of complicated but does work

Like i said in the guide, you may want to hold on till after the 16th, I will post back to let you guys know if the amount I charged actually got into the game or not, according to SDO you can precharge, and when the game goes live, every time you log in there will be a message on the chat that tells you how much time you have left.

Yeah, i dont plan on charging anything until the game is patched / up to date and plays when the 16th comes.

Thank you very much, me and my friends will be continuing to play after the 16th. Depending on how frequently the US version is updated, I may end up staying on the CN version until I quit the game for good.

Seioursly, I will never want to play in China server when it goes live. Not that the company sucks but solely for the fact on their payment system.....

It is so bloody confusing to give them money. Before you force yourself from your money, you have to go through so many different process. Chinese (I am a chinese btw) seems to like to do things their way. Instead of things like paypal, they have their own money transfer system which require a person to go through so many layers of regsitrations.

Infact, I tried to register for an open beta account and get lost even with a help from a China person who study in Singapore. There seems to be a card which has the code for you to log in. It is good for the security, but it is too inconvenient for my taste. WAY too inconvenient.

I agree, i find it really annoying how they cannot just take a Master/Visa card. Also the website isnt exacly well designed too, things a burried under all the different menus.

But then again, Asia is a particularly cash driven society, I remember going to japan and finding out that I can't use my credit card 99% of the time

At least the ATM's don't discriminate.
I would just get a fist full of yen and be all set. Sometimes got annoying with the coins, but I'd usualy throw them into the alcohol vending machines that were scattered on the sidewalks.

Thanks for the info, though only meant to test some toons out and wait for NA version, having a lot of fun with the game, so decided to play until the chiense version until NA version gets released.

I don't think so, the game updates to v1.0 on the 16th, and then you just start paying for the time.. Updating is going to be a pain though, I'm hoping they release manual patches
