It wasn't mentioned how the US forgave all the Japanese scientist involved as long as they got to keep all the info the Japs had learned. Its so terrible and awful and yet we not only profited off it but protected those involved...what does that say about us. Or when the US Gov't conducted the Tuskegee Experiments on its own unsuspecting population. Every country has dirty laundry in this case there are no bigger fish in the sea, each one is just as guilty as the last....

if your going to bring up one country's terrible biological experiments might as well bring up all the others because its not as if one is worse than the other, they're all equally unethical....

I like history, and I know a lot about WW2. I knew about these experiments, too.

But I'm sure this is the wrong forum. This is a fansite about a game, you know, having fun in a cooperative and/or competitive way, not about gruesome historical subjects. No politics, no excessive violence, no porn, there should be limits here.

Whoaw, whoaw, whoaw, why are we banning pr0n?

Kidding.

Its nothing off your back and its certainly not anything off mine. Let it be. Besides, its fun to discuss something besides games.

No politics? EVERYTHING involves politics in one way or another, no politics would make for VERY VERY boring boards.. All you moaning "this isn't the right place" "don't try to start flaming one country" "racist bastard" WHATEVER you're saying... Freedom of speech, freedom NOT TO READ.. especially when the OP has stated that some people should avoid reading the article.
You whiners are the people that are turning the world into the Nanny state that it's becoming/become. You're the gits to blame, trying to protect everyone else from anything deemed "not nice and flowery".

Yes, this is an Aion fansite... But we're also a community of fairly intellectual people, and we have alot of discussion that is not even remotely related to gaming, let alone related to Aion. Whether you, yourself, think this is the place to discuss these issues means sweet F.A. You're not our mothers, you don't have to protect everyone. People have the right to post this stuff, and people have the right to choose whether they read it or not.

Bottom line, stfu whining and either stay on topic or don't post anything.

I most certainly hope you did not think I was pointing fingers at the Japanese. I thought you could read and you were smarter than that, seriously.

I know the whole thing isn't new, but I'm just putting it out there because I didn't see any topic about it and it's important to know that this **** really happened and that you know what, some of our little problems are REAL problems like these prisoners and "subjects" had.

For everyone who think this topic doesn't belong here, like I care. This is the Chitchat section and it's meant for random topic and random subjects.

For those who think it's about poilitic and pointing fingers, don't get me started on how blind you guys are and how you successfully failed to read my first couple of posts.

Actually, they do mention it in the link I posted, but very shortly in something like one sentence. That's one of the things which grossed out the most about this whole story.

Yeah - so they did use them as guinea-pigs.

So what? Should the Japanese keep on apologizing forever and ever and ever and... like Germans and Austrians are made to believe by leftwing daydreamers? Funny thing is, their hypocrisy becomes their own trap as soon as you politely point out that they are (in my case) Austrians as well.

And IntangibleFate: If this story made you "poke yourself to sleep", then you are way too soft.

Oh, and as Howling said: Can't handle a disussion? Don't post.

Ohohohoh that's a funny one. Actually, I was joking, and if you didn't understand that, then you are way to... sad? Hey, all kidding aside, it takes a lil more than that to make me go sick. Seriously.

in the name of science, all acts are justified acts...just not by the test subjects!

the OP isn't pointing fingers...he just picked a freaking article about the topic. I'm sure they'd have picked a same kind of article if it were about another country doing similar things. But, why should they have hunted for all the related cases from different countries to put in their post when only one is sufficient for the point? lol relax.

Their emperor is dead, the people that performed the experiments might as well be, nobody in Japan today would do something like this.

And I'm sure someone said something like that back then about WWI being over and that nobody would do things like that nowadays. Don't be so naive, **** as ****ed up happens everyday in some countries.

And as much as what I'm about to say is ****ed up, the reports and discoveries about the human body that came out of these experiments were really helpful to medicine. Nobody had the courage to do these things, at least not your everyday physician. In a way, it was inevitable. We had to know how much time we had to treat a persons arm after it was put in an extremely cold environment.

Wow so much controvesy over this thread? I'm really starting to believe Aionsource if frequented majorly by children...or even worse...hippies...xD

Nice read, personally it was a little shocking to find out about this. Honestly though the japanese weren't the only people who would do stuff like this, its just the japanese had to let this information out in accordance to the American information deal. So much harm is done nowadays that is unknown.

Lets hope war never gets to such drastic measures again....Although honestly when it comes to the field of medicine people are willing to do anything
