I can't even begin to say how excited I am to be able to deliver this news to everyone. For me personally, this has been 3 years in the making. Even though the news was let out early, it still doesn't overshadow the fact that Aion's most important announcement yet has arrived.
Aion has official release dates for North America and Europe!

Now, before you go all "OMG non-simultaneous release dates! NCsoft lied!" on me you have to realize that game retailers in NA and game retailers in EU put product on their shelves different days of the week.
However, I was told that early access service for Aion NA and EU should still launch on the same day,but know that with all dates and statements are subject to change. Once we have official word, we'll let you know!

- Asmodians, levels 1-20
The third beta event features the Asmodians. Asmodians are a fiercely loyal, brave, and hardy people who are not friendly to outsiders. Their skin is pale or dusky, and their eyes have adapted to low light by gaining an otherworldly glow. The feathers of ascended Asmodians are dark in color.

- Asmodians and Elyos, levels 1-25, and a first taste of the Abyss!

Hey everyone - "CB2" is of course short for the longer "Closed Beta Event Number 2" and I'm crossing my fingers for your discretion regarding my current affinity for acronyms. I decided to stop by here just briefly as we're tackling excessive summer heat and CB3 ("Closed Beta Event Number 3") preparations both at the exact same time.
If you read the previous entry in my blog you might remember that I asked participants of the previous beta event to send me their group pictures. I did get a whole bunch of pictures out of which a great portion were definitely worth more than a mere glance!

Hey everyone-
I'm sure you've noticed by now, but we have a new default theme for AionSource and it matches the sexy look of the AionArmory quite nicely. Now I know some people don't like change, so you're still welcome to use the old theme. Simply scroll down to the bottom of the forums and choose AionSource V4.1 from the drop down.
FYI, the icons still need an update and we're working on that. We're aware some are kinda ugly right now. 
I hope you all enjoy it. I know some of us are going to have to modify our sigs and avatars to make up for the darker background (myself included) but overall I think it makes the site look crisp and clean.

Hey guys, a wee bit of a late-night treat for you all here at Aionsource
AionArmory - Second Patch!
It brings a smile to my face to announce AionArmory's second patch has just gone live, a big thanks to Nic (Sank) for his continued great work as the Armory's head developer. As usual you can submit feedback/bug reports/questions at our AA forum
Right off the bat you should have noticed the main page has changed and now sports a rather dashing young Asmodian, you may be seeing more of him very soon. Don't ask for details though, I'll take that secret to the grave
Bug Fixes:- Crafting materials will no longer show recipes.
- Cooking items will no longer display incorrect values.
- Fixed some missing/hidden items (e.g. Od)
- All spells should have correct values now.
- General bug fixes in all areas.
Improvements/Additions:- Users can now submit multiple item drops at a time.
- Users can now submit data edits which will go into an admin approval queue.
- Users can also submit new entries(right now only guides) that also go into an admin approval queue, further additions/tweaks pending.
- Items now include manastone/godstone stocks.
- Recipes now display required level.
- Items that start quests now show it on the item page, a filter has been added also.
- Title list now shows the quest required to obtain each title.
- Additional filters have been added for new item fields.
- Spell filters added.
- Description filter on items added.
- SpiritMaster spells now show which pet they are related to.
- Spells now state if they are stigma-based.
- Recipes show rarity, filter added.
- Weight-scale is now pinnable, upgrade tab on items.
- Items can now be marked as World-drops or faction zone specific.
- Enhanced editing bar for submissions (currently Guides)
- Syndication search box support.
- Latest edits menu added.
- More items have been marked for their particular race/faction.
- Latest edits/submissions added on user profiles.
- Hefty increase in item drop data.
Please note that if you are unable to see the new image on the Armory itself you'll probably need to clear your cache =)

AionArmory Editing Guide.
It would seem some people are a wee bit lost in regards to the recently introduced editing function so here's a quick writeup explaining it.
When visiting an item/npc/quest/etc you will notice a spiffy little button on the right called "Edit this Entry" By using this function users are able to manually add/change data within the Armory. Obviously the fields that show up will be relavent to the item, items will show fields such as "Level" and "Dropped From" while quests will have "Starting NPC" and walkthrough fields.
As stated in the patch notes any edits you make will be placed in the admin queue pending approval, hopefully you guys make good use of this feature =)
Aionsource.com - Reputation System
On not quite such a dramatic note I'm happy to let you guys know that we've finally gotten around to properly integrating the reputation system with Aionsource.
If you would all be so kind as to look at one of your posts and glance below the join date you'll notice a bar, the size/coloring of said bar will depend on how well people think you've been behaving during your time here at the Source
Just a brief overview for those of you unfamiliar with forum reputation, on the left-hand bar of every post under your avatar/userdata there are a few little icons. If/when another user sees a post of yours that they feel particularly strong about they can click the small set of scales located there and approve/disapprove of your post. There are limits to how much "reputation power" every user has to rep people although if you're an active member of the community and post a bit that shouldn't be too much of a problem.
While this has no world ending effect it does influence that magical reputation bar I just spoke of, positive rep turns the bar green and then proceeds to extend it while negative rep turns it red. To view the latest rep comments made on your profile just scroll up to the top of your screen and click My Account.
Just a word to the wise, abusive comments are not welcome in the rep system just like everywhere else. If you do have a particularly nasty rep comment just throw me a PM and we'll get that taken care of for you 
And that about covers it folks, keep an eye out for that dashing Asmodian I mentioned before! You might be seeing a lot more of him soon
