Divine Points (DP) do not increase cooking crits

I've seen some people saying that DP increases the crit rate for crafting, and others who say it doesn't. I wanted to test this out for myself, so I did an experiment today and can confirm that it does not increase crit rate...at least not for cooking.

Note:
I do not consider 1 extra crit (out of 100) to be anything to write home about.

For both tests I crafted "Kirka nyerktail" which was white to me (later turned grey). I decided to do this one since it was pretty much guaranteed that I wouldn't get any failures. I also had a tonn of Vinna and Kirka since I harvest the hell out of those for the petals. You can also turn a bit of a profit (if you gather all the Vinna and Kirka yourself) by simply selling the finished product to the cooking merchant.

----------------------------------------

Test 1
Crafting: 100 Kirka nyerktail
DP: 1 full level (2,001 to be precise)
Kirka nyerktail (regular): 146
Tasty Kirka nyerktail (crit): 54

----------------------------------------

Test 2
Crafting: 100 Kirka nyerktail
DP: 1
Kirka nyerktail (regular): 148
Tasty Kirka nyerktail (crit): 52

I like how this forum makes nyerktail out of co.cktail...

And well - a sample sice of 100 doesn't really proof much huh.
I don't believe in this DP **** either - I did my alchemy mastery w/o DP, so what.

Old news!

The DP thing is looking like a rumour across the board, not just cooking.

I would try with full DP, not just one level

Yep, I've been thinking about maybe doing the tests again with full DP. Don't think it'll show any different results, but what the hell...at least we'll know for sure.

-------------------------

----------------------------------------

Well, we can now say with absolute certainty that DP does not increase cooking crits, at all.

I just did the experiment again, this time with maximum DP (4,000) and double the amount of crafted product. And I actually got more crits with zero DP. :P

Here are the results:

----------------------------------------

Test 3
Crafting: 200 Kirka Co.cktail
DP: 4,000
Kirka Co.cktail (regular): 308
Tasty Kirka Co.cktail (crit): 92

Screenshots:

----------------------------------------

Test 4
Crafting: 200 Kirka Co.cktail
DP: 0
Kirka Co.cktail (regular): 302
Tasty Kirka Co.cktail (crit): 98

I regularly make thousands of food items.
The crit rate varies anywhere between 15 and 30%.

I've never crafted with DP though.
Sometimes I queue up 1000 pluma steak and get 600 tasties. Sometimes I queue it up and get back 300 tasties. Random number generator is random.
DP is always 0 though.

If nothing else, I like seeing confirmation that crit rate is 25%.

Hahaha, the DP has nothing to do with crits.

The crit rate is based on the day of the week (IRL) and the night/day (ingame).
Also the table you are using has differences. Each "crafting table" has a certain critical rate depending on the time.
But the "hot crafting table" changes around randomly so finding the right table can be time consuming and expensive.

Results may be totally random but it is easy to check if DP affects crit chance, if anyone cares to conduct a proper statistical test.
