IC: Gahr
Just outside the fortress gate I large group of Balaur had formed a bottleneck at the entrance to the fortress. Still dozens more were trying to get into the place Gahr had called sanctuary just that morning. Gahr had positioned himself behind a large boulder that was a mere 30 yards away from the gate with Valk the great Earth elemental at his side. To the unintelligent and bloodcrazed Balaur Valk looked nothing more than an ancient oak tree that was missing most of it's leaves. Gahr knew he would have to stop these balaur from getting in if his fellow knights were to mount a successful counterattack. At the very least he might be able to by some time for them. Gahr gave a knowing look to the great spirit and whispered a short phrase under his breath. Valk reared back and threw his arms in the air with clenched fists. He let out a fiercefull roar that seemed like it could be heard for miles. The Balaur clammoring at the gate stopped and stared wide eyed at the great tree. Valk charged moving at a surprising speed for a creature its size. He came upon a group of three balaur still frozen in utter confusion. With a wide backhand Valk struck all three balaur so hard they flew ten feet into the brick wall of the outer fortress. At this point the Balaur outside the gate turned angrily towards their new foe. A group charged and their metal axes and maces clanged against Valk's stone-like bark. Valk swiped angrilly at the now dozen or so Balaur that had him surrounded. At one point Valk even picked up one of the Balaur and began beating the other balaur with him. Gahr crouched low behind the boulder and a familiar light flashed from his back. He spread his wings the flew up 100 feet directly above Valk and in the blindspot of the sun. Gahr clasped his hands together and then raised then high above his head. He began to chant and soon you could see his breath as he spoke. The area just in front of the gate seemed to get darker as if under a cloud. Soon bits of snow and frost were forming in the area. Within only a few seconds the entire area in front of the gate had gone from prefect weather to full on hail. The chunks of ice falling out of the sky were as big as your hand and the shape of daggers. Balaur in the area began desperately trying to get out of the mini ice storm. Gahr remained hovering in the air with his arms streatched skyward repeating the same chant over and over. Frost was now growing on his lips and chin but still he remained steadfast. "As long as I can keep the Ice storm going," gahr thought to himself, "then these Balaur can't get into the fortress. I've just got to hold out long enough for the Divine Order to push back." IC: Roy
Outside the fortress gate Roy ran the rest of the way back up to the gate after his brief chat with the sorcerer. He knew the front lines were no place to him, so immediately white wings burst into existence with a bright light on his back, and he flew over the wall, landing behind the small group of knights holding off the Balaur from entering the inner courtyard. "Amazing. That knight just ran through the Balaur like they're nothing." Tossing away his distraction, Roy focused on healing a few of the knights on the front line. Then an idea struck him. "Knights, do not look back," and suddenly he started chanting. A white orb flickered to life in his palm, growing larger until it was about the size of a basketball. While Roy continued to chant, the orb floated up and moved over, above and behind the knights. Then it let out a loud whistle, too high in pitch for the Daeva to hear it, but just within the spectrum for the Balaur. They looked up for just a brief moment before the orb exploded into a bright, engulfing light. All the Balaur that weren't smart enough to look away dropped their weapons and covered their eyes, but it was too late. The damage has been dealt. Those that hadn't looked away were blinded by the light and doubled over in pain. The others were disoriented only for a moment. Hopefully this would be the break the knights needed. A torrent of snow and ice raged just outside the gate as a blinding light emitted from behind the defenders. While the plan had mostly worked and many of the Balaur were clenching their eyes in pain, the one unfortunate factor that hadn't been considered was the crystalline and reflective surface of the ice and particles from Gahr's storm. A Templar to Knite's left threw his arm over his eyes and stumbled backwards having caught a sharp reflection and Knite had to squint and hide his eyes to avoid the collateral damage himself. A Balaur who had somehow escaped the initial burst took advantage of this flinch and a rusty sword found its way through the plates that covered Knite's sword arm joint and pushed through until it scraped the plates on the other side. Knite recoiled with clenched teeth, pulling his shield to the right to push the blade as he pulled his body away and struggled to keep his shield in front of him to deflect more incoming blows as his sword began to get heavier and heavier. Roy caught his mistake only after it was too late. He had made a stupid mistake. It only takes one mistake to get a comrade killed and Roy would be lucky if none of them died here. He knew he had to fix this mistake, or at least try. Pulling his mace out of the loop on his belt, Roy hefted it over his shoulder and charged around the group of knights. He swung the mace over his head at the first Balaur he saw. The attack caught the warrior by surprise and crashed down on his shoulder, crushing bone. He spun away behind a couple of knights. He could fight when he needed to, but he wasn't a gladiator, he couldn't hold off three and four Balaur. Roy waited for a second for his adrenaline rush to slow before stepping out and watching one of the more fierce knights get slashed, right in his sword arm. Roy immediately started chanting, hoping to heal the wound before he lost too much blood. Though it would take a higher level cleric to completely heal the wound, Roy could at least lessen the pain and give the brave fighter use of his sword arm back. The spell lights flickered to life in his hand and shot out towards the knight. Unlike the others, the lights focused on the wound in his arm. The lights circled it for a moment before they tightened fading into his arm one at a time until there were none left. The wound isn't fully healed, but it should hold out until a higher level cleric can tend to it. While he was chanting, the same Balaur he struck dashed around the knights. When he spotted Roy, he let out a blood-curdling cry of anger and rage before charging at Roy head on. Roy could barely get his mace up to block the first strike. tag anyone __________________

IC: Gahr
Hovering outside the front gate Gahr could already feel the strain from the ice spell pulling at his very soul. He felt more and more fatigued the longer it went on. Gahr focused on the spot just in front of the gate never flinching. Suddenly and without warning a great flash reflected off of the ice shards burning Gahr's eyes. Gahr instinctively looked away and the Ice storm that had held the Balaur back immediately began to dissipate. He let out a loud grunt in anguish as he rubbed his eyes. Gahr opened his eyes and saw nothing, just a giant white spot with fuzzy outlines of a horizon in his peripherals. Valk the great tree spirit sensed his masters misfortune and let out a defening roar. The ground around Valk was littered with the bodies of at least 8 Balaur, and ten more were still hacking away at his battle scarred trunk. Gahr whispered a few words under his breath while still rubbing at his eyes. Valk began lurching forward, trampling two balaur that were in his path. Still swinging wildly Valk made his way over the opened gate and planted himself in front of it, effectively blocking the entrance. The infurriated Balaur began slashing away at Valk more feverish than ever. Tag any __________________ Harry: "Maybe you should get in touch with him.. Zecks kept on firing magic missiles towards the enemy's while advancing forward. As he did he saw the massive storm of ice raining down on the Balaur, as well a Giant ancient tree fighting, if not mercilessly slaughtering the large group of Balaurs that were attempting to subdue it. After Zecks fired of a few more missiles he summoned his wings and took to the skies. But the moment he reached a decent hight the ice blizzard turned into immense light, blinding Zecks almost entirely. He tried to cover his eyes in time but the light was already so bright that it started to hurt him greatly. He went back to the ground and landed hard as his wings vanished. Giving himself a moment he stopped covering his eyes. Standing straight and looking forward he could see almost nothing. However that did not seem to make him panic at all. He stood there calmly waiting for his eyes to recover as he knew it was only temporary. Sounds he could hear. The Rain of Ice stopped falling.many Balaur shouting in pain over the bright blinding light. Sounds of the weapons metal hitting the ground as they fall to the ground or cover their own eyes.. He could hear and feel the ground tremble from the direction of the Raging Tree swinging around madly as he roared. Then the earth shook as the tree advanced towards the gate. The Clash of swords and shields at the direction of the fortress gate of the few that did not become blinded. But then he heard another sound.... the sound of him being surrounded. He put out his left hand and a electric ring started forming in his hand "This could mean trouble" he thought as a small smirk formed on his face. His arm which had been moments from being limp at his side suddenly began to repair and the shooting pain was soothed. His vision was normal once again as well. He'd only caught a slight glare off of the ice, luckily. Unlucky for many of the Balaur, they were dead onto the blast. It was a great plan indeed, as was the ice storm, but unfortunately they didn't co-exist well. Either way, it wasn't much of a detriment. His arm again in working order and the Balaur in front of him without clear vision, Knite held his sword forward at full arms length and gave a shout to the Knights around him as he burst forward, his silver weapon swinging freely through the debilitated Balaur. Hovering above the Outer Gate Gahr rubbed at his eyes for only a few moments before his vision began to return. It was blurry at first but slowly he began to make things out again. He saw Valk planted firmly in the gateway fending off the last few Balaur trying desperately to get past the great elemental. A small skirmish seemed to be brewing off to the side but it was still hard to make out who was friend and who was foe. Gahr turned his attention to the 3 balaur still fighting Valk. He pointed his palm at the gate and clenched his fist tightly. A great gust of wind swept over the three balaur at the gate swirling into a great vortex that sucked the very breath out of their lungs. The balaur gasped for breath as Valk ended their misery by bringing his powerful fist down on their heads, one by one. "Thank you again friend." Gahr whispered as Valk was absorbed back into the earth to rest his battle scarred body. Tag any OOC: For anyone who is reading these posts, join in any time. OOC: *GM Approved*
Name: The Dreamer Race: Asmodian Class: Sorcerer Age: Appears around 28. Description: Tall with shining red eyes, pale blue skin, and long white hair. A black tattoo covers his right eye, almost imitating a scar. He wears a black cloak, knee-high boots, and pants. Biography: Once a captain for the Asmodian army, he is now a well kept secret among high ranking officials. He was banned from fighting with his own race, due to his "Unwillingness to limit and control his power, and his inconstancies with determining the difference between his enemies and allies". This was issued after an incident where he killed a band of Elyos, as well as his entire squadron, replying simply to the investigators, "I'm not quite sure why they all wanted to die...really had they just not gotten so close to the Elyos they would've been fine. They must have been depressed..." He was instantly labeled insane, and if not for high record of success with the killing of Elyos, would have been sentenced to death on the spot. He since then has been coded with the name "Mad Wolf" and is sent out on various assignation and sabotage missions. However, he often vanishes from the eyes of his assignors and will go months at a time before returning for another assignment, claiming that he grew bored. This has only confirmed most of the officials theory of Dreamer's mental health; however, it is whispered among a few that perhaps The Dreamer has his own agenda in mind...what this could be though, is beyond anyone's grasp. IC: Dreamer Leaning against a large rock, Dreamer looked upon the carnage that spread before him. He had chosen this pot as it was an ideal place for viewing, and offered no risk of being spotted. As the Dreamer watched, he began humming to himself a merry tune. It had been quite the amusing show, especially when whoever had casted that blinding flash, took out some of his own. In truth, if not for the caster being an Elyos, Dreamer might have sympathized with him. After all, he knew better than anyone what it was like to have your own men get in the way... After watching a Templar fend off a few more remnants of the Balaur, his eye caught sight of a few more of the lizards trying to make their escape across the hillside. "Tisk, tisk. That just won't do..." The Dreamer grinned menacingly, as he stretched out his left hand. A golden beam shot out of its palm and divided, hitting each Balaur in its vital point. The Dreamer watched as they went down, as if in unison, mesmerized as the breath of life went out of them, "So...beautiful..." After waking from his hypnotic state, he realized it might be best to leave, as he could now see an Elyos sorcerer had noticed his spell, and was in the process of locating him. Leaping down from his hiding spot, he landed in a clearing coming face to face with another Asmodian. Some-what taken aback, by the stranger's appearance, Dreamer quickly regained his calm demeanor. He could tell that the Amodian was an assassin, and could already guess what he was hear for. Clearing his throat, the Asmodian began to recite the message he had been given, "Mad Wolf, has been ordered by royal decree, to go to this location immediately for next assignment." The assassin handed him a map, "Failure to do so, will be a charge and sentence to torture and death. We are to escort you there." At the last line, two more assassins appeared from behind Dreamer, as if they had simply come out of the rock. They were good. Dreamer's mind then began analyzing the message that he had just heard. For to receive a message such as that, they must really be desperate to get him back. A smile suddenly appeared on Dreamer's face; this might be interesting. Turning to the head assassin he replied, "You know...It's very rude to sneak up on people like that." Raising his finger, flames erupted around Dreamer, consuming the three "escorts". The Dreamer listened to their screams; it was as if a chorus of divine creatures had begun to sing just for him. As the flames died down, he barely glanced at their burnt corpses before summoning a portal and stepping on through... Tag: any __________________ Follow me through the doors of chaos. As Zecks was about to cast his spell he heard horrible screams coming from far of. He knew it was balaurs as the screams were monstrous and yet agonizingly painful. The surrounding enemy noticed Zecks being distracted and began rushing towards him from every direction, charging at him with weapons at the ready to strike him down "Lightning Ring" Zecks whispered as he released the spell. The electric ring in his hand formed around him several other rings that covered Zecks entire body. The Balaur attacked the shield not knowing that their attacks would backfire. One after another they attacked and it countered them with a fierce lightning attack. Each time they fell to the ground it only took a moment for them to get back up and slice at the shield again and again. The attacks began weakening but so did the shield. His eye sight had however almost returned. "Better end this quickly" he thought. A glowing orb formed in his hand and then started firing magic missiles. each splitting into 2 or 3 after leaving the shield. They were struck down until only one remained. He began falling back then started to run away. "Smart choice" he said and turned his attention towards the gate yet was still worried about the recent screams he heard. His face turned from calm into serious as he took one step forward, then a fast step back turning himself towards a airborne Balaur from before. With both his arms he thrust them towards the balaurs chest as he caught him by surprise. On impact between the hands and the armor light started shining violently then it exploded into the Balaurs chest, vaporizing him. "You should have kept on running " Zecks said with a disappointing tone. Tag Any. __________________ I dislike death, however, there are some things I dislike more than death. Knite took a breath as he viewed the carnage around him. All around the assailants lay lifeless and/or smoldering and an eerie silence filled the abyss. Knite checked with his fellow defenders at the gate and a man he hadn't seen before caught his eye. His uniform was obviously of a clergy organization. He held out his hand for a thankful and introductory shake. "I still have some injured men at the front lines, sir, if you are able to assist." Gahr landed outside the gate shorty after and Knite was happy to see his friend well. "I noticed another spark-thrower out there, Gahr. It looks like he stood you up, too." He said with a smile. Roy smiled when he realized the battle was, for the most part, over. There were a few stray Balaur still roaming here are there, but the Knights broke off into groups and disposed of them easily. Roy saw the last Knight he healed walk towards him, and Roy braced himself. As soon as the knight was within earshot, Roy started apologizing. "I'm sorry about the flash earlier. I couldn't see the ice storm and I wasn't thinking correctly and-" then Roy was cut off by the knights hand. Roy looked confused for a moment before taking the knights hand and shaking it. He shook off the look on his face before introducing himself. "My name's Roy." He said with a curt nod. He then saw the "spark-thrower" land and waited for a moment to apologize to this one as well. If he could, Roy would go to each and every soldier to apologize. Tag Knite, Zecks __________________

Upon taking Roys hand in a shake he cut off his apology. "You've got nothing to apologize for. Both your and Gahr's tactics were well thought out and effective. It was unfortunate they clashed as they did, but I can't expect such things to cross your or anyone's mind in the heat of battle." After the reassurance, the introductions came. "Pleased to meet you, Roy, and thank you for your assistance today. If there is anything the Order can help you with in the future, you have our support." He turned once again acknowledging Gahr. After shaking Knite's hand, Roy dropped his back to his side. He nodded and seemed to think for a moment at Knite's offer. "I'm not sure if you meant that literally, but I could use somewhere to practice with my mace with others who have skill. My incompetence got me into some trouble today. Lucky for me the knights were close by." Roy said with a drawn out sigh. But then the smile returned to his face and he was the cleric that people knew and trusted again. None of the knights on the front lines seemed too injured, he didn't think they would mind terribly if he took another minute. Roy turned with Knite to acknowledge Gahr and waited for him to come within a reasonable distance before Roy stuck out his hand in an introductory fashion. Tag Knite, Gahr __________________

Gahr landed soflty at the gate of the fortress and seamlesly began walking towards knite and his newfoud ally. "I noticed another spark-thrower out there, Gahr. It looks like he stood you up, too." gahr heard knite say, "Do you know him?" "No I don't." gahr said " but I hope to remedy that soon." Gahr made his way to Knite's side taking a little extra time to go around the growing pools of Balaur blood. Gahr heard the robed man introduce himself as Roy and let out a sigh as Roy tried to apologize for the flash of light. Knite quickly stopped the man's apology, there was after all no need. Knite introduced Gahr as he offered a shake to Roy. Gahr's face was expressionless but he seemed to give an aproving nod. "Well Roy, the Divine Order is happy to help in any way that we can. I'm sure we can acomodate you and your training." Gahr spoke with a steady voice staring straight into the eyes of Roy.
