Personally I'm not a fan of little blurs on the screen and hearing clashes and having to visualize two people clashing together at lightning speeds.
That kind of **** stopped appealing to me as soon as I realized how ****** DBZ was at the age of 14. I'm more of a fan of fights that are extremely fluid and visually stunning. With a sense of abstract realism to it. Hard to explain what I mean so I'll show a couple. This naruto one I really enjoyed the sort of "dance-ish" feeling these couple episodes brought. The artist behind it was incredible. The scenes are of the quality you'd expect to see during a film. The realistic debris clouds and movement. It was more exciting to watch than an "over the top" fight. As far as OVAs go Afro Samurai was one of the more notable ones I've seen. The Afro vs Jinno fight was good for several reasons. First of all Jinno's outfit was very light hearted, it reminded you that the OVA itself was American. The fight itself if you followed the plot was somewhat dramatic and drew the viewer in. The movement and art in Afro Samurai was a bit more far fetched but definitely just as stunning and easy to follow while appreciating the grandness of it. This fight from the well known Samurai Champloo was very powerful. This was on the first episodes so naturally the artwork came out strong. These two characters bringing hardcore attitudes to the screen were a very appealing clash. It set up the rivalry between the two and left the audience asking for more because it ended so abruptly. The fight in Cowboy Bebop the movie was very well played out. Spike himself was always smiled upon as an admirable brawler but in the anime he was hardly done any justice compared to the movie. The colors, scene and hard hits are definately something more relatable. No fancy fist flinging or crazy flips, just punches to the jaw. Black Lagoons Roberta seemed like a fish out of water at first but quickly became a very unorthodox but memorable character. Her approach to the fight seemed like she brought a case and umbrella to a gun fight only to kick major ***. __________________

Nice choices there Ponestar.
This is one of my favorites. Edit: That video shows the whole fight, although there is no audio of the fight. Can only find AMV's of it for some reason. __________________ ![]() Last edited by Big Murph; 08-31-2009 at 01:01 AM.. |

all retarded, just random special effects, explosions, random slow downs and motion blur.
The only good anime fight scene I have ever seen is in The King of Fighters Another Day. Besides, If I wanted to watch a really entertaining fight scene I'd watch old school or old school styled martial arts movies like Ip Man. |

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Nagato Yuki vs. Asakura Ryoko
End of thread?? :O Prolly not, but this is the most badass fight scene I could think of quickly. It really stands out. Not many other fight scenes have been so unusual. |

Spent too much time trying to find a good video but I got lazy and decided this one, and I dont like the champion road one.
This is an amazing fight but this particular vid gets good around 2 mins into it. __________________

Air Master Epic Showdowns Maki (Air Master) vs Lucha Master. The good stuff comes after 6 min.
History's Strongest Disciple: Kenichi Kara no Kyoukai this anime movie has lots of fight scenes that are good to watch. __________________ ![]() For I pray for tempest tossed, lost souls.

And yeah, I don't usually much care for anime action/fight scenes (I don't need to see some ridiculous 10 minute battle), but the ones in the Kara no Kyoukai movies are awesome (beautiful sequences with great action and presentation, but still short and to the point.) Best movie action-wise is probably the 3rd film, imo. Seirei no Moribito also has some great, short action scenes. |

Archer in FSN makes a last stand against berserker to buy time for Rin, Saber and Emiya Shirou. Ofc spoiler in this if you never seen the anime. Edit: if you meant a martial art fight scene i'd of picked a Kenichi vid ![]() Last edited by Aiko; 08-31-2009 at 06:17 AM.. |

This is a low blow claim of me to make but some of these vids I'd think are only being linked because of the dramatic effect it had along side the plotline. The fights themselves are mediochre. Any anime could bring you robot demon vampires who ride evil flying unicorns while they shoot beams of energy from whatever limb or orifice is the norm on that show. Personally I'd think you guys only like them because the stories plucked your heart strings :P Enjoy some real animated art __________________
