I played Mabinogi for a little while and got terribly bored.
Rappelz is pretty good so far. Just got it running. Kinda fun. Also I know it is not exactly a MMO but if you like TCG's then you may like: Cardmaster Conflict - phpfeed.jsp Pretty fun! |

The only decent games I know to play now aren't in english. Yogurting and Master of Epic are very good F2P games, but they're in Japanese. Yogurting is more an Action/Instanced mmo, with your chars able to do combos and such and if equipped with headphones your char goes into this endless dancing motion which is great for starting dance trains xD.
Master of Epic on the other hand doesn't go by the level route (where higher level usually means better character) similar to Mabinogi, where skills are more important. Pvp becomes available as you get into a higher "level" though. Another game, though P2P, is Emil Chronicle Online (has a Thai version), which has 12 base classes expanding to a total of 36 classes. With options of having your characters get a skill to turn into either a doll (marionette) or a weapon when afk, which can be used by newbies to help them level (you get xp too if you're used, and can revert back to normal form, should the newb refuse to let you go). You also get the option of buying floating islands, where you get a house you can decorate with to your heart's content (can be used to travel from one city to another as long as it has an island landing port, and starts as a sad little island with just a house in it, no decor or anything). This should have come out in English, but IAH Games (of GESea) still haven't released it yet -.-. @Livvy healers (Cleric/Kahuna) get attacked albiet rarely, though most don't due to that fact that they need you in party later on. Being in a guild doesn't guarantee you from being pk'd if at war with another, as you will be Kos. The pretty bar of immorality soap or w/e from the cash shop tends to limit the acts of pk since it only clears a small amount (300 i think), and manually killing of mobs to take 1 point off of honor points isn't really viable in the carebear servers. Be warned when the other version of that soap comes out occasionally from the cash shop (clears the pk counter and returns the player to white) everyone isn't safe, as higher levels (100+) usually use them for their need for blood. __________________ ![]() Signature by Kentaro ^^ Last edited by amica; 04-22-2008 at 01:51 PM.. |

You have folks in Rappelz who do nothing but PK newbies ,that's their idea of fun apparently. In defense of the game : I saw an entire guild come to trainee island yesterday to help out newbies with the 1st class quests. Helping level 10's to kill those rocky anathemas and worms etc. That's also Rappelz .... Last edited by Livvy; 04-22-2008 at 03:29 PM.. |

Everyone knows Horizen is the PK Capital -.-...that's where most of the high levels sit and relax them and the bored people and shoppers. The other newbie city to stay away from is Katan, since there's less people, and alot of more space to run. Rondo is for 45+ (50 but at lvl 45 you can solo there at tigers), and as expected is quite empty, a few shops here and there, but the safetest in terms of pkers attacking you compared to Horizon and Katan. Among the 3 starting towns, Laksy is probably the one with less incidents of PK as for some reason many find the warping from main city to outside gate tedious -.-.
I'm not attacking Rappelz, I love it, but I left due to my friends and guildies leaving, therefore I find no more reason to play. If there were more people on Yeti server I'd probably go back, the grind was tedious as all asian games are, but the all out pvp was fun. I'm assuming you're below level 50 since as a healer, you will be attacked in dp's when another group wants to take your group's spawn, this usually happens only on Lost Mine and Crystal mine dungeons, and when grinding on any level 50+ area where mob tends to drop pet cards. One more tip. Never get mass buffs...they're weaker and generate more threat than single target buffs. Only use them when you're absolutely out of mp, or too lazy to buff individually. __________________ ![]() Signature by Kentaro ^^ Last edited by amica; 04-22-2008 at 03:49 PM.. |

Lol I installed rappelz to see if my glowing ball was still there and it was! But I logged in and my breeder was naked and I couldnt figure out why I couldn't put my Silver suit +7 on. I realized I had been reduced to Guide again and had to job change and JP up till what I thought was the stats I had when I left.
The only part that i liked was the leveling of the pets. Other than that its boring and slowwwww. |

Oh yah...to Livvy you're cleric right? Goodluck on getting cleric cards...no matter which server you're in the cheapest one you'll see will be 1million. Most of the higher level clerics 40+ up have +2 cards (level 7/12 buffs) and the higher level you are, the more your buffs are expected to be stronger. Some parties/guilds will actually harass you if you don't have the needed buffs, and will instantly replace you once someone with better buffs passes by (unless you happen to have +3 heal).
@Anuxinamoon: which glowing ball would that be? breeders became better after ep3 with skills mixed from HW and CL effectively raising a breeders ability to solo. You also get dual summoning which at max gives you about 1 1/2 minutes of 2 summons helping you level :P. You'll be happy to know that all summoners have same creature taming levels, so the only difference between the pet classes now are the pet toggles ^^. But all pet classes are basically all equal now unlike in ep2 where everyone was either a spellsinger or a sorcerer. For $50/month (lol) you can avail the purchase of Stam Savers for faster Leveling, a tent, and the almighty HV Pass! *sigh* wasted so much money on this game -.-. __________________ ![]() Signature by Kentaro ^^ |

My 1st f2p mmo was Silkroad online and it was pretty good, just that damn it was lagging to much in the cities!!! And killing 200 white tiger while they is 10-20 players with the same quest.... You know lol
I tried Rappelz too but i just try it, was ok but i only play one day lol I try maple story and another of that kind lol i dont remember but dont feel it. I tried the beta of SotNW, i play one night and i dont know why I stop... And play WoW. Still have the game new, in his emballage lol I even got 10k of money with a special character cause I preorder it. Maybe ill play it while Aion got out lol Just to play something. I register to play Manigobi or whatever it is lol Never play yet, dont have time lol I friend told me it was really cool and everything and 1 week later he is installing WoW again, so i dont know :S So I dont think I can help with what is the better. But i think all korean MMO are kinda the same. Just ok or not worth to play. Like BahamutKaiser said : Quote:

I would just get a good console game out, or buy a new one. If it has any longevity, it should last for a few weeks. If your the kind who just needs something to consume your time though, just keep playing Cabal, that's about the grindiest grindfest grinding grind game that ever did grind a grind. And if that didn't make sense, Cabal has alot of grind, but at least your hackin it up :P

Dudes, I've found a F2P Anime MMO called Dream of Mirror Online (or DOMO) with possible Cell Shading graphics. Sure it has grinding and stuff, but it's system is actually connected much to other people. It has actual cutscenes and the quests offer variety. As for a F2P game, this has been the best one I've ever played so far. Felt kinda like Dragon Quest VIII, with a better combat system but worse story-background. lol
Oh and, at lvl 15 you can make a quest to be able to fly as well. Here's the link and I really think that it's worth a try (that coming from someone who usually dislikes F2Ps) and is a rather good alternative (especially together with others and for people who like anime-style MMORPGs) until Aion. There's loads of Emu's for P2P games that are free. Only a few of them are decent, but you can't expect much from Free Games. As someone said before, Perfect World is good. I haven't gotten a chance to play it, but I've seen some friends play it and it looked decent. Personally, I'd just play something along the lines of Counterstrike (you have to buy the actual game, but well worth it), or Half Life 2 (not Multi-Player in any way shape or form). Other than that I have only really played Guild Wars, WoW, and WC3.
