Best F2P MMO

Ok then, in the grueling wait till Aion comes out i need something to amuse my time.

I have tried so far:

ROHAN Online + Cabal online.

Anyone else give any suggestions, ohh and if its worth it will consider a P2P if its decent.

Any help would be apreciated.

I've played them all, pretty much. Trust me, they all suck (at least 3/4 of them are imbalanced through cash shops anyway). There are a few that had potential and some rare good points, but there's none I would recommend to anyone.

What Endrance said is pretty true. But there are a few f2ps that are a cut above the rest...

These are...
Granado Espada ( Sword of the New World ) ( Afk grind, but damn is it pretty )
Perfect World ( Super WoW clone... or who knows, could be the other way around, I think this games been around since like... 2001 or something )
Aardwolf ( MUD ) ( Zomg super scrolling walls of text )

I'll say Anarchy Online is the best F2P ever, and possibly one of the best MMO's overall. While I can't really know this 100%, it's such a game that i'll take my freedom to say so. It's a very old game by now, 7 years more or less, and i've played it for 4 so I would know the game. It started as a P2P, until like a year ago when it went F2P, so you can't really say that it's crap 'cause it's free, cause it's been P2P 90% of the time. And still you have to pay fee's to play the 3 expansion packs, while it's not necessary you'll want if you want to reach far.

You might not like it because it's a game you need to get to know really well, it's old and the graphics/animations are rather outdated. However the world itself and the gameplay is so vast, I can't begin to describe.. so it's a very complex/mature game. On top of that the community is unbelieveable, about every person you encounter is nice, mature and helpful.. and you'll find high levels opening trade handing you millions, just because you had a nice chat. Seems like there's more people the age of 25-30 then there's 10-20 yr olds, and it's not rare to find the 40 year old couple playing together.

A little fact; these are the ppl that are making Age of Conan. Just so you know it's not some random company. So if you don't mind outdated graphics/animations and just really want to kill time, I recommend Ao. Dunno if you'll like it if you don't give it a real shot, and get into it.. depends how desperate you are to kill time ^^

Granado Espada is one of the prettiest games I have ever seen, but I quote Celestin on the grinder part...plus it also terribly imbalanced because of the Cash Shop.

Certain things in the game can only be done if you "Buy" the item...lol, no quest or anything, just buy it.

As far as I remember, the game was plagued with bots since one of the biggest helps the game gives the legit players was this game's curse aswell, "AFK Auto attack".
Yup, go work/school/errands/have sex, leave your boys stationed in one spot and with the ridiculously quick mob spawn times, they'll level on their own, no problem.
The only part that really requires true skill is to become a geographer and find the good AFK spots.

I still have the game in my comp, but everytime I kind of click on its icon I feel dirty...lol..I just can't play it.

Oh, I only have played OBT. I have the game too. I bought it because it was a great deal ( $9.99 with some kind of rebate ) and they promised me an awesome special character which I was hoping to be Emile the Sage or whatever. But it turned out to be that stupid guy in a turban or something so I was too disappointed and never actually got to opening the box. Plus, by then, I was way too hyped up on AION. I wouldn't know about the cache shop.

Seriously though, I would recommend everybody just Granado Espada once just for the experience. If you play the game like you're supposed to and actually do stuff as opposed to just afk farm, it's really fun and challenging. But... it's just easier and more efficient to afk farm. Though if you're like me, you turn your sound up when you afk farm so you can hear when an item drops and ninja it!

Plus, the soundtrack is awesome!

I really enjoyed the game for a little while (only got to lvl 40 or something), but it's definitely not something I would play long term.

Well if you really want to play something for a little while, you could try Granado Espada. At least it's something "different" and not the typical epic fail.
Although I still wouldn't recommend it as a main MMO.

I wasn't aware there was an imbalance in GE with cash shop users o.o. I play on GE SEA (Carracci server ^^), and the only thing that would be considered unfair by non cash shop users is the ability to purchase 100% xp and stance xp books. The other misc. stuff are good and decent, but they aren't needed to play it decently. This is in GE SEA of course so I don't know if there are any major differences in Sword of the New World.

Regarding the botters, there are still some, though most are in the higher level mob areas, but the general community do look out for bots and they do a pretty good job keeping them at bay. I can't speak for SotNW though.

If you can understand/speak japanese though, Yogurting is fun, Master of Epic, and Emil Chronicle (cutesy though) are too. If you can understand chinese and can stand cutesy games, Holy Beast Online is good ^^.

Although in GE Skills in the early game tend to be entirely useless, as mobs are being one hitted. Kinda lame, if you ask me, since the playing three characters at once, using the skills of all of em manually concept is pretty nice. Too bad the game doesn't make use of this by implementing monsters with alot of HP and different skills. Lots of mobs with low HP <<<<<<<<<< less mobs with more HP. Just don't get the developers there.
It's also a bit too fast paced. Should be slower paced to make efficient use of all different skills in interesting battles where you'd have to watch enemy skills. Well, this "attack all mobs in range" feature without skills already reveals that this game wasn't meant to be as complex.

I highly suggest checking out Mabinogi. The game has incredible depth -- it feels more like a pay-to-play MMO than anything else... except it's free!
