Physical memory dump and L2
Has anyone ever gotten a blue screen while updating L2? I just bought this computer (litterally got it today) and I started updating L2, fell asleep and woke up to a terrifying blue screan saying physical memory dump...I did a hard shut down(is there another way?) and started updating again.
Should i be worried or just whatever? Could it have something to do with my antivirus thinking L2.exe was a trojan? |

memory dumps are cause by a lot of things, ram timings off, gpu display driver error, insufficient power from the PSU...I doubt it has anything to do with upgrading L2 alone, unless l2's updater accesses something that causes the BSOD, but I doubt that as its just a downloader.

Meh, I'm not sure if theyre going to do any actual harm to the comp..I used to have frequent ones that came like a dozen times a day, couldnt figure out what it was, changed power supplies ran ram memory tests, turns out NVIDIA just makes ****ty GPU's/drivers, and I needed some "Z-tweaked beta driver" for my card, because all official NVIDIA releases caused problems.
It would be hard to really figure out whats causing it...what else appears on the screan when it says beginning dump of physical memory...mine used to say a lot of stuff like (0x0000004C, 0x0000, etc...) sometimes nv4_disp.dll problem, other times MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION...all different ones that dissapeared once I got this driver. |
