Blade and Soul: Possible Race Skill?

I was just looking at the trailer for Blade and Soul once again, and I saw that one of the confirmed races, which doesn't have a name known to use yet, has fox ears and a tail.



Again in the trailer, we see 2 more fox-like creatures, but at first glance you might think of them being the same thing as each other; just a mob in one scene running, and in the other, just standing still. But I took a closer look and got the idea that this smaller race might just be able transform into a werewolf-type monster. Just look at these 2 pictures I screenshotted from the video:






The first could easily be a transformation of the fox-eared race, while the second could be just a simple monster/boss or an npc. This excites me a bit because I like the idea of very surprising and unique race abilities and traits. Anyone else think that this might be possible?

What most people thought was simply the same thing as the 2nd and 3rd picture, though I wouldn't blame them at first. This is most likely an NPC for this race, or even a monster/boss.

at this point everything can be possible. so, why not? I don't like transformations anyway :P

This is a very interesting observation. If you look at some of the interviews with the B&S developers, they did say that the fox like character--a midget--was one of the playable races. Could you do more of this kind of analysis? I would like to make a post about it on my blog XD

Possible fox transformations make me giddy.

They just look sooo nifty.
Downside (upside?): it's just gonna be too funny to see a random little fox-girl pop up outta nowhere and lay a smackdown on one of those huge bone dudes.

the fox is definitely another race. There's a PVP scene in the trailer where a gon fights against the fox-animal form.

Dude! I've never been fond of small/cute races but if this is true I'll be all over them in this game! XD

I'll try to take a closer look. One thing that would go against this is that there is a scene where one of these fox dudes are being beat up by a Gon (or whatever they are called, the female version of those monk type fighters). You would wonder why he didn't transform if he could, but this could be to hide the fact that he CAN transform.

If someone can get a clearer frame-by-frame of these, that would be a big help so I could look at then closer with better quality.

Check out the last screenshot. If it is indeed a race-specific skill, I am guessing there's a cool time, or a specific condition which must be met; like he can only transform in the forest or something like that.

That would make sense; and with the forest thing, it would be even better, possibly keeping true to Asian legends and influences. That mob could possibly be an npc for the class and class skills (though they stated in the interview that they would not make learning skills as easy or as boring as buying them), but I have no idea...would be very interesting though.

Thanks to eVenom and Lady Kismet. I updated my post with the new screenshots and more evidence. I am thinking about starting a video analysis project at bascentral.com if anyone is interested. Some game portals already posted a few, but I think we can do a better job than that.

Nice find Kismet. It's funny because I have that image as my Zune Background and saw them but never thought of anything towards it LOL. If you look at the top, you can see that woman from near the end of the trailer; she seems to have that racial flower abilitiy (I believe the devs said she is also another race, but not much else). And it seems like there's only a female version of it...odd...maybe a female only race or something. Or possibly they just don't want to show much XD

Also notice that the silhouette fox characters on the right side have the same haircuts with the ones on the left side, most likely indicating that they are the same two characters from the left side, but with split persona's, or in this case, implies that they are indeed shape shifters/transformers.
