They sell 2 pets.

Monk: Nothing special, just the pandaren which is popular. 50% of his price are donated to charity.

KT: Little Lich that kills critters with frost spells. 100% of his price goes to Blizzard.

So in fact the are merely donating 25%. And you can imagine which pet will be more popular. Children wand pew pew

You do not know enough about Blizzard to have all the facts, or you would not write comments like that. It's the fact that Blizzard lately abandons all his principles for RMT (Real money trade?) that nyerks people off.

I also think you forget that NCsoft sold tangible in game items that give you a active upgrade for 10$.

I know what its about, I meant I didn't read the whole thread to see responses by people.

All the money goes to charity until the new year right? I assure you the only people who will buy these items are nerds. Big WC nerds. Pandarians and KT are either WC3 easter eggs or characters from WC3/raid instances. Random casual prolly wont spend IRL money for a pet that they don't care about.

I assure you, NERDS who wanna buy this already have it. :P

You quote stuff you didn't even bother to read? Not "all" but 25%.

Of course they have.

As I stated before: selling vanity pets / clothing without stats is, while greedy, not damaging to the game. As far as the wings & CE-Items are concerned: yup, I would not do that but then again @ 25 (where the PvP begins) the Stat-bonuses are barely noticeable.

*waves* I love you too, pipe man with a cloak I bought the CE simply because I was too lazy to farm 900K :P

Bundling goods and services with charity is a proven marketing tactic for increasing sales. And what's more, it's not like they're not getting anything out what they're donating; it's a tax write off. As far as your bank account is concerned, saving five bucks and making five bucks are the same thing.

This is deviously nefarious on their part. As long as they don't cross the line into selling functional equipment, there's really nothing wrong with it (aside from the fact that they're printing money). Problem is, Blizzard's developed a reputation for compromising on this sort of thing with its other paid services.

Either way, I would rather 25% of my money go to charity OR blizzard (whos know to give money to charaties and work with make a wish in the past) than use a Cash Shop in a ****** NEXON game or any other generic MMO that sells EXP and BIS items.

Why are today's people so unintelligent?

1. They're giving 50% to charity on a product that probably didn't cost them more than $500 to create.
2. The charity donation only lasts for a short period of time and they'll continue to sell it after.

Corporations can get away with shady things like this so brazenly precisely because people straight refuse to figure it out and think rationally. If their customers held them to a higher standard of ethics they wouldn't stoop to new low after new low to make some extra money.

Blizzard was a good company when they made their games with quality in mind and profited that way. The billions a year they've been grossing with WoW has only served to substantiate their greed, rather than diminish it.

That's what's truly backwards.

So you basically spent real money for an advantage in-game over people who didn't spend the money

Sounds like a gold buyer to me

They make less than 25% profit from running WoW, and alot of that goes to making their other games. They have almost 5000 employees and so many servers that they have 1.3 Petabytes of info just to run WoW.

Thank you. Exactly my PoV but in far better English than mine.

To be honest: I felt like a cheater. But then again, the CE wings are beautiful and the stat increase will be gone by Lv 40 and therefore not impact the endgame.

I have to admit, I felt pretty dirty when I upgraded to the CE for the wings.
