I'm worried about that to. Im definitly going Elyos cause I feel the enviroment you get to game in is much more 'up-lifting' and will be more satisfying to play in -- but i was a die-hard WoW player (an alliance member) -- and it seemed like no matter what server I was on, the horde pwned so bad in the battlegrounds. But that WAS partially because only level 19 twinks would enter and for alliance level 10 noobs would enter. So I hope Eloys doesn't end up getting owned because the more experienced players end up going to asmodian race. ***Although that could just be a WoW Stereotype - so Im not sure how other games compare. |

Well, it's a toss up between kiddies and PvP d00ds. People that lack logic vs. people who ignore logic. People who are socially clumsy vs. people who are just assholes. People who are retards vs. people who are ****tards. Choose your poison.

I'd rather deal with people who don't know better. That kinda stuff you can look back at one day and laugh. The other kind... well, sometimes, it can make you hate humanity.

I was all set to play Asmo but, my friends wanna role Elyos. My only drawback was the appearance thing. I prefer Elyos environments to wander in for PVE. Mind you, for hunting people, I prefer the darker Asmo environments. Both points fall in the Elyos category. Also, when the new character customizer came out, I made my mind up.
I've always enjoyed paradox characters. The Asmo have developed traits to adapt them to their environment so, I intend to make my first Elyos char as adapted to living in the sun but, hunting in the dark as I can. Between the choices in unique body proportioning, the huge array of skin colors, eye colors, and effects, I intend to make a char who looks like a beast of light even without its wings. |

Nothing... absolutely nothing... and thats why you should join us Asmodians, now grab a sword and shield to your left, and proceed down the hall to your right, fall in line. The invasion of Elysea begins on release day =) lol
P.S. Its not back hair. its a dam mane like a wild sexy lion mane =) |

I agree totally. Lol in some games, people are just plain jerks. Maybe a friend is over and they decide to kill someone to entertain them. Once in a while, I don't really mind, but when it becomes every time you step out of safety you get targetted by people 2x your level, it gets annoying lol.

What they represent.
As the stereotypical "Lightside" archetype, the Elyos meshes well with my overall Light Makes Right perspective. Trolling these boards, I've heard quite a few players assume that the Elyos are pushovers, or are automatically gonna suck at PVP or what have you simply because they don't have the wickedly cool "dark image" that the Asmos have. Not true. One can be a Pretty-boy and still be 'bout his business. One can be a Lightsider and put the fear of you-know-who in the enemy. And look good while doing it. So in conclusion I say: Whooooooooa Elyos; and... Bring on tha Babes! (Of both factions.) |

Exactly. I don't consider myself a bad guy and as a rule of thumb, I don't ever encourage it. I always play as the good or the better guys.
I also have a soft spot for underdogs, which is actually part of why I chose Alliance when I began playing WoW. Even a complete noob can look at the racial traits offered to Horde and Alliance and tell that the Horde racial traits are far superior. Sure the average Horde player might be better than the average Alliance player, but you also have to take into account how vastly superior Horde racial traits are. There's no comparison when your enemy has a 25% chance to resist your lifeline, yet Horde players somehow have developed the mentality that they are winning because they are always better players. For the record, my first class was a druid ( most underpowered class at the time ) and then paladin ( pretty goddamn underpowered at the time ). And for PvP... my philosophy is simple. In the end, somebody is going to be making a corpse run and it's not going to be me. I will exploit almost any glitch, bug or tactic to win that will not get me banned to win. For example, when I played D2, whenever I dueled a mellee assassin with my amazon, I attacked only while running south and if I ran out of space to run, I switched to my Stormshield and ran all the way to where I started from, throwing only the occasional jab and repeated. An extremely cheap exploit, but my mentality is to win. And I'm rolling Elyos. To say Elyos are going to always be worse PvPers is an insult.
