When I first learned about Aion I thought Elyos were the good guys, guess it's cause of my tendency to look at game artwork first thing before reading the lore lol. I usually play the good guys, but it mostly depends on if the good guys are designed well. In this game I don't see Elyos as being good or evil, but time will tell who is responsible for the destruction of the tower.

Not trying to make this a racial thing, but does anybody else think it's interesting to note that everybody (myself included) is associating the white skinned as being "right" and the dark skinned as being "wrong"? Innnteresting...

Like others have said, the angel wings vs bat/demon wings biases as well. The glowing red eyes doesn't help the Asmodians either (I hope there's an option to de-infrared-vision those characters).

I've seen the char selection screen videos, but I don't recall if you can pick how light or dark your skin tone gets for either side. Anybody remember if there was an option like that?

and I havnt seen anyone say dark skin is wrong....

True they look like in some ways but at least we don't have bird's food!!

I did'nt play beta test, I'll way for the game to come to America but one thing for sureI don't want to be a drow like character. U saw their skin? blue greenish? thats what happend we you live underneat for too long.

Hell was made for the fallen Angels, the ones who rebelled along with Lucifer, some can go in and out of Hell as they please, how ever some of them cant..the most evil ones are bound on chains for the end of the world. Lucifer actually lives in space, in the end of the world he will come down and cause havoc along with the BEAST system, False Prophet and anti-Christ. Demons are not the same as Fallen, they are experiments of Human and animal DNA some evil angels did. Demons are the Fallen Angel's slaves. And yes, I believe in "that sort of thing."

There is GOOD and EVIL, and the world is tolerating intolerance, the world is tolerating evil and evil teachings, while they refuse to hear the truth from that "darn Book" which is the official and genuine manual for us humans, all the other books and religions don't have the same power, light and truth as that "Book". False books like the Qur'an which gives permission to HATE, LIE and KILL, false teachings like those are the ones that we Humans are tolerating. Evil exists, and if you are not careful it will swallow you whole. I Know This is a game and it is NOT the same as the real world, however it is good that you know the inspiration and respect it and that you know that in the real world, similar beings exist, ones that protect us like super heroes and others that are villains and use twisted methods to destroy us in anyway.

The Angels in the Bible are Winged beings although some appear wingless(In the book of Enoch Angels can place wings and fly at will much like this game). However not all Angels have 3 wings, witnesses accounts including my family have said that they've seen them with only 1 pair (2 wings). Some other sources say some have 4 wings, and the ones that have 6 are the ones closest to God the Seraphim, the high ranking Angels if you will.

Here is the Hierarchy:

Seraphims: Closest to God, super powerful beings of fire, they use 2 wings to fly, 2 to cover their face and the other 2 to cover their feet.

Cherubims: The ones who work close to God, they have great wisdom and know secret info. Lucifer was this rank and other ranks too as he was the most perfect angel back then.

Thrones: They are below the Throne of God, they are mysterious beings that have a purpose that is unknown, but seems to support God's HQ in some way.

Dominions: They are in charge of supervising everything that is done in Heaven and on Earth.

Virtues: Great Heroes who have fought against evil. Michael the Arch Angel might have this rank, Angels can possess more that 1 rank.

Powers: They Judge Good and Evil.

Principalities: They are in charge of nations skies on Earth, so there is a principality in every country, and they are strong as one angel stayed fighting with one for days straight until he requested backup. There are also Fallen principalities you see, as well as other ranks you can imagine.

Archangels: They are in charge of literature and messengers, as well as tasks here on Earth. Michael, Gabriel, Uriel and Raphael seem to be Archangels, although they may have other ranks we do not know.

Angels: They are the lovable and cool beings that roam Earth and help us, sometimes they take human appearance, My family and I have seen them many times! you may seen one too! XD

It does not, It was many studies of scriptures that gave us the impression of this hierarchy, however we are not sure on how it works, what is the precise order or what not. But we do know that there are higher ranking Angels, Like Michael, Gabriel and Lucifer who is Leader to a 3rd part of Heaven that followed him and became fallen.

Many people have their view on their hierarchy but not a clear one yet, this is a huge world there are many hidden things, same goes with their world which is much bigger and complex than ours as it has no time, when you die you just open the door to that other world and you understand it including the concept of eternity. But we flesh beings have a hard time understanding the world of eternity unless we are hungry for spiritual matters and ask God for help.

Remember we humans will never reach total perfection just forgiveness.

Good and Evil? Right and Wrong? It's all subjective to our experiences and feelings. For example, abortion is a highly controversial subject. Whether you believe it is right or wrong is all based on your feelings on it. When you say abortion is wrong, what you really mean is "I think/feel that abortion is wrong." If morality was so easily set in stone, we would have no need for courtrooms, debates, ethics, philosophy, etc. It's a touchy subject.

For example, follow this scenario and humor me. You have a time machine. You hop back in time before WW2 and the holocaust. You're presented with the chance to assassinate... no, kill a young Hitler. Now would it be wrong? You're going to prevent a major catastrophe but wait... he didn't do anything, yet. The life of one for the life of many. Hmm... decisions.

What about animals hunting other animals? Is that evil or is it just in their nature? This is controversial as well. Killing can be a necessity of life. You may be confusing the term with murder.

Is Lucifer really evil or was he just fighting for what he truly believed in? Lucifer was just truly human in nature exercising his free will. If I wanted to go to Hell, would that make me evil? Isn't Hell a product of God? Doesn't that mean God wills Evil? If God is all-powerful, all-knowing, all-seeing, and all-good, then why does he allow it? Hell can actually be seen as a form of God's justice, can't it? Don't you have any problems with this? Lucifer's a hero of mine. I actually feel that we should strive to be more like him.

I don't like where you're going with this, Azel. In fact, I hate what you've said. It seems like there are ulterior motives involved (conversion or maybe sugar-coated "saving"?). I wouldn't mind a religious debate, though, but preferably not here. I'm dying for an intellectual conversation, but we'll probably just talk past each other. I've been in these debates before and they all turn out the same. And where do you get off calling Qu'ran a false book? It's fine to say what you believe in but when you write off another religion like that it shows how close-minded you are. I'm not a follower of Islam but I felt I had to protect it. I feel that the bible shouldn't be taken so literally but more as a guideline. However, who am I to say how people should follow a religion. No religion is superior or more correct than another. Show some respect.

As to the topic, I simply chose Elyos for aesthetic reasons. I wouldn't mind Asmodian, either. I'm playing both eventually to see all the quests and cutscenes to see how they differ. Afterwards, then I'll choose a side to remain on since end-game is both the same. Depending on whether I like Elyos or Asmodian cities and environments more or simply the overall community. I'd probably play the underpopulated, outnumbered side which is looking like Elyos more each day. I'd hope for every class and both races to be distributed evenly though because it sucks when you're always winning or continuously losing.
