Those guys with the disco lights on their head look cool, so I came here and took a look around and then decided to go cleric-but wait level 42 you say? it all changes there?, after a few videos to check out the class I checked out the skill page and then it hit me.

Promise of Wind

The first thing to go through my head was "Windfury? im in." so now im level 20 and I adore this class like no other, Its flashy its mad and you smack a guy with a staff (Clearly chanters know kung fu, like Keanu Reeves does) and you get a light show to boot.

But where oh where is my windfury, sure it procs every now and again and when it does my face looks the same as it does in my picture (See above) but really...5% I see it once in a blue moon, and yes I know we get blessing of wind later..but its a stigma.

Now we are all aware that for a good part of the game we are a great big tasty AP snack, but how could this be fixed?

Im sure there are plenty better ways such as itemization fixes, changes to our core mechanics and so on but for me personally I want something a bit more fun.

So how do we make such an awesome class more awesome?

Add a bit of pow into PoW

15% chance to proc of all of our moves and our direct heals healing the target for a little extra. or insted of the direct heal part how about a 5% chance to proc off our little HoT, not the great big gaudy F-U im not dying stigma one mind you.

Im sure that the little extra % wouldnt break us beyond compare, im not asking for PoW to proc of PoW at a 20% chance here so I can just sit on some poor guys face beacuse I got lucky that would be unbalanced and no other class can do tha- oh wait rangers.

An extendable hammer will be priceless in the Abyss, and I will likely never get a better hammer. But there are a ton better staffs for us in the long run. I have a decent staff right now that only lacks a stone slot and some accuracy / parry over Xeno's.

Maybe the question should be what will you replace Xeno's staff with, and how long do you think it will take to get that better staff. Cleric has dots, casted nukes, roots, dispel, mana regen skills, aoe/instant/hot heals.

How does the class with the strongest heals do more damage then us? From my experience it seems like Cleric's can out dps us, especially if they spec for it. Is there any data or any lvl 50 experience about Chanters spec'd for MC and Cleric's spec'd for DPS, who can do more?

I feel like alot of things should have been included in the basic priest class for both cleric/chant.....mainly a mana regen tool, a defensive dispel, and Heaven's Judgement scaling for both classes.

Chanter's should have superior damage to Cleric's regardless of spec, and decent damage overall. Currently almost all my skills do similar damage, and I don't even notice Promise of Wind procs. I always volunteer to loot chests in lower abyss dungeons because I know my damage will not be missed lol. So far the most utility I have found thru melee other then my debuffs is crit/knockdown for interupts. I feel like our heals and buffs are not so powerful that we should be denied some decent damage....atleast have things like Rage spell actually increase our damage by 15%.

I looked up that the best heal she gets thats spammable is healing light VI at level 44 which heals 990.

Since magic boost does not effect heals, and magic boost does effect damage, how is she expected to heal through even a single DPS class? a level 50 sorc hit me the other day with an instant cast ice nuke that could be used every 2 seconds for 1300 and that sorcerer was freshly 50 not in full gold gear. How is a 990 point heal suppose to keep up with this? especially with a 2 second cast?

What am I missing? I know there is that 770 tick Heal over time, but tossing that between healing lights just to stay alive under fire from a single dps class seems like a real struggle.

I thought chanter's would be a less popular class -- as the server stats indicate if you don't apply any sort of filter -- but on my server Chanter's are the most popular class 30+ except glads (which we can't accurately measure due to bots of course) and occasionally sins (pretty much equal sins and chanters 30+). Of course only considering 30+ isn't entirely accurate, but I think it's about as accurate of an estimate to measure people's mains from players that are generally on the more serious side of things. The reason I ask for others' opinions is because, as a support class I worry that I will find myself not liking the class as much if it feels a little flooded. Two chanters is a bit of a waste in almost any situation (not entirely a waste for pvp of course, but still a less healthy combination than 2 of most any other class). And while I don't have the need to always feel useful (or else I would have stuck with the templar or chosen cleric), I do get more enjoyment out of feeling like I am an integral part of the group and still highly desired.

Im playing on the EU servers but cant seem to get any answers to my problem there so i thought i would try here.

Im a lvl43 Asmo chanter and have been farming for the soul strike book now for almost 3 levels. My server is Kalil which is the newest EU server, to my knowledge not a single asmo chanter has this skill ... truth be told not a single class has managed to get their book to drop.
Every Elyo chanter on the other hand uses this skill on me in the Abyss all the time.

I realise now that it obviously drops far far more frequently for Elly than it does for us, added to this is the fact that we need a full group to farm it and Elly "from what i can gather" dont as theirs also drops from non elites.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction?
Are there certain mobs in the research center that have a higher drop rate?

I have probably cleared the place over twenty times with different groups and have not seen a SINGLE book drop for any class, I have asked around on the server and as stated above, i have not found a SINGLE class Asmo side that has seen their book drop. This puts us at a severe dissadvantage in the Abyss, and it is becoming more and more noticable as people are leveling up :/

Any advice is welcome and i thank you in advance
