I realize a lot of legions/guilds or whatever you want to call them come and go, sometimes at a crazy fast pace, and im starting to see why.

I got this game to play and have fun first and foremost. Fun for me is having plenty of group content and playing at my leisure, my own pace. I dont guild hop, dont start drama, and just want a nice environment to play with other people in.

The more I started playing though, the less fun it is becoming. Firstly, I want to say part of what is taking the fun out the game is the pressure to keep up with the others in the legion, at 42, it feels like im FORCED to play, not because I want to. As the BG I feel like when the core players do something, I should be right there with them.

Anyways, recruiting, its a pain in the ***. There are a few characteristics about people that you can mix and match to describe someone.

1. Chatty/Silent
2. Active/Inactive (or becoming inactive)
3. Immature/Mature
4. Leader/Follower

Its obvious what type of player you hope to recruit, but out of 20 players maybe only 2-3 will really fit in and help out or make the legion come alive. This goes with being online regularly, to get to get the quiet/shy ones to open up.

Recruiting is an endless task. People come and go, the more you recruit hopefully the more the good ones stick and by sometime you should have a pretty stable guild. My problem here is. Im tired of logging on, and instead of taking my time to level, I mix leveling with recruiting. And again, this fits with logging in every day, its becoming more like a chore or second job.

Aion is new. Duh. (here in NA at least). So creating a legion and keeping it going, progressing it further and further. Its not easy. So what happens when the BG needs a break for life. Im tired, maybe starting a legion was a bad idea, and now i feel too responsible for it. Sometimes I just want to not log in and not worry about anything, Who was to say Aion was for me when i started playing anyways!?

I gave it a shot and now im wondering if I should continue playing. Im NOT going to go indepth about what I like and dislike about the game, there is plenty of that from others.

Guess thats /endrant. :sigh:

This just isn't working. The saved .tga file looks the way I want it to when I open it in gimp. But for some reason in game it looks like crap and all distorted. I've uploaded the .psd file I used to make the emblem. When I save it in gimp as the .tga it looks exactly the same. But it just looks like total crap when I put it in the game. Any help is appreciated.

I guess I figured it out on my own. Aion doesn't like any type of outer glow that you make with PS. It was making the outer glow I had on the eyes as one solid color. I just eliminated all outer glows and now it looks ok. If you think about it as an "officer" rank, what are some roles for this? They should 1. Be active players and interact with the legion. But what else is there? What is the main purpose? To keep things running smooth so people dont think there is no hierarchy system?

Another concern is the legion warehouse (we know!) i've heard of some people running all centurion legions, except for new members who would get promoted later on after being active ect.

If anyone has experience in how the limited ranking system should be run, please any input is appreciated. I't the most STUPID thing ever invented in a game. what do they really expect to achieve with this?? a lvl 4 legion can have 12 members?? first of all, only thing that will happen is that many people will just make there own legion ending up with loads of fairly inactive legions, all other legions have some sort of dumb lvl restrictment before they will recruit you. with alldo respect to some legion leaders, how do you think lower lvl players or players that maybe have a full time job, or go to school and don't play 24/7 to get some groups to do group quests??? many people get stuck with these quest because they don't find a decent team for it. unless these legions get rid of there lvl restrictment or they remove this silly member cap.

Im looking for a host that has next to no issue and is reasonably priced and wont try and screw me later by jacking up rates.

Probably just going to have a 25 user setup and if i need more, i can hopefully upgrade later.

Seeing as my old legion kind of disappeared and stopped being on teamspeak and what-not, I decided to leave. However, now I am looking for a legion and having a few problems.

First of all, all the legions that look good or meet my criteria have an age requirement of 18.
Now I am very mature for my age, but I am not 18.

So that narrows it down significantly, the rest of the legions I either applied for and never got a response or they just don't have a few necessities to me like Ventrilo/Teamspeak.

So I don't know what to do, if anybody has any ideas or a legion for me please reply.

I didn't know where to put this so I put it here, hopefully the right spot.

We have a website on guildlaunch. We're a very small legion consisting of maybe 8-10 live bodies playing who hasn't logged in for a few days. A couple days ago, a few of our members quit for unknown reasons and the guild leader got upset about it and made a post saying along the lines of if you're going to leave, let us know why. Later, he asked me why I think people are leaving. I told him it's probably because we're a small guild and everyone wants to be in a much bigger one. Now, I have a few questions for guild leaders or officers:

In your opinion, how can a legion be successful? I know it's a general question, but I just like to have some opinions.



Is it better to just openly recruit people at the start to better establish a strong structure at the start? Or start recruiting people when your main members are already max or near max level?


As an officer, my job is to help maintain the website and invite members to the guild. But, my recruiting skills is rather stale while the leader is pretty gifted with handling that stuff. What do people usually say when they start recruiting people?





I know answers will be rather subjective, but I desperately need some guidance so I can help my friend out with this situation.
