Aion music 'remix'

Whilst waiting for yesterday's extended maintenance to complete, I continued working on this little remix of Aion's in-game music.

This basically is an unfinished/experimental track, so it lacks quite a bit of stuff (decent transitions between the two rhythms for example.)

Anyway it's a mix of some vocals like the ones found in Holy Grounds, combined with the percussion from Manduri Forest, and finishing off with part of the fighting music from Verteron. Also features the start of the "Aion origins" cutscene audio.

Diary of an AMV production

Well, I have been rambling about an AMV that I am currently producing in legion chat and with some folks that are on my server (Kaisnel).. and I figured, may as well give out a timeline / diary of this month long production that I've undertaken.

I'll start out first, by saying that I went to school for Multimedia, but I've been messing around with FRAPS and video editing for many years now (started when playing DAOC, since 2002). By no means am I a Hollywood editor or anything, but I do think that I have some talent, no matter how minuscule it may be :p

I also consider myself as an anime-otaku, and have watched countless animes. My most recent being 249 episodes of Bleach that I watched in less than a week. Not so bad, unless you consider that I also had to work, hehe. Yea.. having dreams of Bleach, eek ><.

Perhaps, one of my most favorite animes has to be Noir. It is very well written, the music is superb, and has excellent scenes within it.

So, I also do watch some AMV's (anime music videos) from time to time, and looked up on youtube for noir AMV's. Needless to say, I really did NOT like what was out there, with the exception of the Desert Rose - Noir - Chloe AMV.

And here we are, approximately one month ago, I decided to produce an AMV, with Noir and Chloe as the subjects. I talked to a guy that I work with, who is also a music producer, and we formed up a team to do this. I will do the video, he will do the audio.

The stipulation, it must be high quality and professional, and must keep the spirit of Chloe in the final production.

So, here's the diary / production notes to date.

Week 1 -> This involved re-watching the Anime myself, and I burned a copy of the entire series to give to my music producer. He really didn't like anime, but he actually enjoyed Noir. This made me happy.

Week 2 -> This week really involved brainstorming on the style that I wanted the AMV to be. I decided that it should be a story, Chloe's story. How she is very deadly, but kind. How she will kill, and have no remorse. She is content.

I took all of the episodes with Chloe into Premiere, and started cutting all of the scenes with Chloe.

Week 3 -> After getting all of the scenes cut, I imported into After Effects, and started putting everything together, time remapping like whoa. For the introduction, I took the scene where Chloe is walking down a street, and as she passes the camera, I took a snapshot of that frame, and then did some Photoshop work.

After re-perspective-ising it (so that instead of the camera looking down the street, with the buildings on the side, the camera is facing the building... and also another picture of the street), I also did one more picture, of the building, but clone-brushed out the windows, with the 2 maidens with swords overlayed in gold.

Brought these 3 pictures into AE, added a camera, made the 3 pictures and the scene into 3d, and simulated camera movement. This gives the effect that the camera pans around to the wall. Added some 3d layered lighting, text effects, and there we go.. the title of the AMV.

With this scene, I also added a couple CC Particle world effects, to give it a foggy look as Chloe walks down the street. Looks pretty sweet actually :)

My music producer gave me a CD with a few songs that he created to give me a feel as to where he's going with the sound. Damn is he good. The songs he made really keep the spirit of the anime imo.

Week 4 -> More editting, more time remapping, fades and straight cuts galore (didn't want to go overboard with the special effects / lame transitions). Ugg.. I built my computer for video rendering, and its taking almost 4 hours to render this AMV, heh.

Yesterday -> Wow.. I really got into a zone yesterday. Got home from work at around 18:30, messed around with trying some different motion blurs, and I ended up coming up with an effect, that gives the scene almost a dream-like, angelic effect. I added this effect to alot of the scenes with Chloe only, and the scene where Chloe and Kirika are fighting together against the Soldats.. very nice imo. Started rendering a rough cut, looked at the clock, and it was almost 2 in the morning.

Today -> Got the rough cut of the video to my sound producer. Day after tomorrow, we have a sit down, to go over voice overlays, sound effects, and the final music score.

So, now I have the final scene to get into the AMV, once it is posted on youtube, I will definitely post it up here as well.

edit: The final cut is finished. Now to wait until Thursday for the sit down with my music producer to get this finished! YAY!

Chaos Pandas need banner for Legion Site

Hi everyone,

I am the legion master for the Chaos Pandas. We are a semi-casual legion on Israphel. We have recently started a site on mmoguildsites and are currently lacking a nice banner (we are still using the default :cry:). If any creative/artistic individual with some spare time would like to help us out, that would be great! :sparkles:

I realize there is another thread with someone offering to make banners, but that person hasn't been active on this forums for weeks so I doubt he/she would respond.

Here are some general guidelines for those who are interested:
- Has to say "Chaos Pandas" on it somewhere.
- The edges fade to black, or some other color (to eliminate problems with aligning borders)
- Has a panda on there somewhere, preferably with wings :love:
- You may use the panda in my avatar (which is our current emblem). Just PM me if you need the transparent version of it.
- Can be as lovey dovey or badass hardcore as you like, extremes are preferred.

Anyway, I hope these guidelines aren't too demanding. I cannot pay in real money. However, if you happen to be Elyos on Israphel, I would be willing to give you 1 million kinah (It's probably not a lot for a lvl 50 but for me atm that's quite a lot)

Okay I couldn't help but draw one of these guys.

Just a sketch, I started cleaning up some of the lines on the hair and eyes so far.

So, I was aether gathing, and I had nothing to do for a large amount of periods of 140 seconds :P, so I decided to create this cursor scheme while waiting :P

How to install:

1: Extract the folder to c:\cursor. (location is important, or it wont work)
2: run the to c:\cursor\install.reg file.
3: You'll get some alert asking you if you want to add the stuff, press yes.

4: Go to start -> control panel -> mouse
5: You should have a new entry called Aion Scheme, select this one
6: You should see the screen below.

7: Select the Aion scheme profile, and press Apply.
8: Enjoy using the aion cursors in windows :)

I hope this is allowed, if it isn't, you can delete this post.

Also, this has only been tested on Windows 7, and this is the first cursor set I've made, so I have no idea if it works on other operating systems.

*Note: This cursor scheme should be seen as fan art, and I have absolutely no intention in gaining profit in any way.

The Adremar Letters: Part I

The following letter is stored in the Library of the Sages:
This letter contains the account of a Elyos Daeve by the name of Adremar,
regarding the events of the Cataclysm and his experiences.

Part I: The Years Long Past

Ever since I was young I can remember the battles between the Balaur and Daevas, the hours of silence while we waited for the legions return, and living inside the Aetheric Field that Aion provided for us seemed almost like a death trap at times. One of the first times I actually saw the Balaur was 3 days after I turned the age of seven. I remember waking up to the sound of 3-4 legions of Daevas flying over our homes as they headed north, I quickly followed till I was about 100 feet from the edge of the Aetheric Field where the soldiers stopped me. I watched as the Balaur slaughtered an entire race to taunt Aion and the Empyrean Lords on.

Azphel one of the Empyrean Lords, quickly led the legions into battle, I was immediately in awe of the power they had, I watched a Brigade General by the name of Kineas tear through the ranks of the Balaur with his powerful spells. The battle raged literally for hours and I saw Balaur and Daeva fall in battle, the fields next to me quickly became a hospital where soul healers and doctors placed areas around the legion kisks to recover wounded or shocked Daevas. The battle continued to rage on and on, the Legions never leaving more than 50 feet from the field would duck in and out of it to strike careless Balaur. Soldiers stood guard at the edge of the field and helped to attack any close ranged Balaur. Sadly some of the soldiers would get sucked into a large field of Balaur if they ventured too far out of the field. Eventually there was a loud horn and the Balaur left, the Daevas tired and worn out rested all over the field. I quickly ran and listened to Kineas as he barked orders and encouragement to his men and all those around him.

The years passed and as I watched battle after battle I desired and pretended to be a Daeva to fly and conquer the Balaur! Sometimes I could feel this power urging within me. They always said that it was the sign of a Daeva, yet my family didn’t believe me. It was around the age of fifteen that I really began to feel this power. Some Daevas noticed that the Aether was responding when I was near it and they quickly took me in and trained me. Years of training took place and I learned how to heal fellow Daevas and resurrect the fallen. I spent much of my time learning under Ariel and her followers it was such a blessing to learn from one of the Empyrean Lords herself at times. When I was ready they quickly threw me into newly formed legion known as the Silver Fang Legion. The legion was set up has most standard Legions, one Brigade General, five Centurions, one Quartermaster, and eighty-four Legionary’s bringing the total to ninety members. Theadric, a Templar was the General of Silver Fang, he was a very bright man and I was proud to serve under him. Our first meeting as a legion was quite eventful. Ishan our quartermaster walked around giving each of us necessary items from the legion as Theadric assigned us each to one of the Centurions. I quickly became assigned to Aleana a beautiful Sorcerer who know the in and outs of battle.

Silver Fang would quickly go off to battle fighting along the Empyrean Lords and some of the most established legions led us to become a stronger legion and smarter fighters as a whole. This went on for years until the event that would change the world as we knew it took quick shape. It was an awkward night, word had spread through the camp that Israphel was looking at creating peace, and yet the Empyrean Lords could not come to an agreement. The doors stayed shut for hours as every Daeva and Human quietly listened and waited for the next step in the future of our lives. Then quickly Azphel and 4 of the other Lords opened the door and left in a hurry, I remember watching Kineas and his legion quickly take wings with Azphel as they fled in disgust, bitter towards the rest of the Empyrean Lords. After Ariel came and talked with many of us we learned that Azphel had become bloodthirsty and sought nothing but war against the Balaur and that tomorrow we would be seeking peace conversations with the Balaur, the very creatures who have destroyed our world. I did not sleep easy that night, war seemed pointless and peace seemed impossible I did not quite know what to support.

I woke up the next morning to hear the Aether Field being lowered, quickly our legion took flight and hovered over a convoy in which the Balaur Dragon Lords made their way into the Tower to talk with the Empyrean Lords. All was fine for a moment until we heard the sound of shouting, Azphel the traitor assassinated one of the Dragon Lords. The once peaceful area inside the Aetheric Field turned to chaos as Balaur launched a massive evasion attacking the Tower of Aion. Israphel tried to raise the field again but couldn’t do so successfully. We were teleported with Ariel to the southern part of the tower to protect it and Azphel was sent to the north with a vast amount of legions including Kineas. We stood our ground protecting the tower and I heard that those on the north side got bloodthirsty and ran wild killing Balaur and forgetting to protect their goal. In one final attempt I heard the courageous Israphel and Lady Siel sacrificed their lives to hold the planet together as the tower shattered in a violent quake.

The quakes threw me to the ground, my thoughts were muzzled by the sound of Daevas, soldiers, and humans alike crying out in pain, the dust was so heavy and debris was still falling from the destruction. The Balaur were nowhere in sight, and soon we saw the sun peering faintly through the giant cloud hovering over us. Aleana quickly barked her orders and we met up with the rest of the legion as Theadric shouted for us to reassemble. As a whole the survivors began to organize, Ariel and the other Empyrean Lords with us quickly comforted the humans and rebuilt the morale of all those around them. We were quickly sent to round up as many survivors, human and Daeva alike and bring them towards our current location; it was now that the fate of Atreia had changed forever.

I'm using an old Canon 350d, with the el cheapo 50mm Mk II, couple convertible umbrellas, 2 of those pop-tent style collapsible reflectors, Nikon SB 25,26, and 28 flashes, a Vivitar 283, home made ringflash, and eBay poverty wizards. (The YN 301p's, which have worked GREAT for me so far).

Exactly what the title says!

If anyone would take some time to help my legion get a banner for its site I would be very thankful!

Guidelines will be pretty simple since in the end we will probably be basing the site theme off of the banner.

Since we are Asmodian, having glowy blues, and dark purples would be nice for color, something very trance..ish.
Art style would be something very in your face I would think maybe something like a rave? Since the guild name is party
Lastly having the legion name "Party" in big letter and under it, saying "Its party time!"

Anyways, if anyone could do this it would be a big, big help, if you can just send me a pm :suave:

So I'm a hip-hop producer who got inspired by the now famously known track "This is Triniel". So I made two tracks called "The Heavens" for the Elyos, and "The Darkness Ascends" for the Asmodians. Now, I am an Asmo player all the way, however, I love my Aion community, and thought I could make something that could inspire everyone.
