-_- well there was one question regarding yogurt...
but like I said it's more of a thread for people who want to ask a quick question that may or may not be addressed in the FAQ and want a fast answer. It's not really for things that can be discussed and debated since in that case the person should just start a new thread. There are plenty of threads with a simple question followed by a simple answer that could be avoided. Furthermore once the game / beta comes out this is useful to post gameplay questions that can be answered by one person and doesn't really require much thought. For example: How can I get to this dungeon from this town? I'm having a problem completing quest so and so what am I doing wrong? Does anyone else experience a glitch when you do ....? Which weapon should I use ___ or ____? I really appreciate it. It just lets more experienced / knowledgeable people with a moment to spare help others in the community.

Thanks for the answer ,i should have suspected as mutch.
A thread will not have content if no one asks anything and if this should be made it should be a sticky whith specific rules ,example people like diablo etc. are not to spam here etc etc. My question was light irony because no one was asking anything just saying.....hmmm ya thats a good idea and so on..... Get my point?

This is something that bothers me in every forum I frequent, and I've even posted a please chill out response once. Anyway I personally don't understand the big deal. Although I am a fan of the search function, I think it becomes unclear today as to what is proper forum etiquette as every community is different. Some places you are never, ever allowed to 'necro' post. So you have to make new threads continually, and people saying this has been discussed many times before blah blah, just have to put up with it or run the risk of becoming an unfriendly atmosphere for newbies, and 'elitist'. In other places you will find that the community prefers if you do necro post and not make new threads... ![]() But nowadays I find that people form both backgrounds frequent the same communities and make it confusing for people to post anything. You necro post, and people say things like: Oh thank you so much for reviving a 6 month old thread! If you make another thread you'll get: "Did you have to make yet another thread about this? It's been discussed before.." So I think it's reasonable to have a tolerance for both, there's a line of course, if someone makes posts that doesn't contribute to anything, usually in the form of one liners ect.. But if they have interesting views and if you can see they took the time to do their reading (even if they couldn't find the right thread..) then I think that's fine. |

I agree, and this thread isn't meant to be "forum elitist" in any way. Some really popular forums have nasty admins that make some members never want to post. I don't think this forum is going in that direction at all even though the community is growing every day. The Q&A thread is just to compile simple questions. It's more of a friendly feature because if someone makes another thread asking something like "when's beta comming out" I guarantee there will be a chain of "omg we discussed this" "read the FAQ" and "we don't know!!!". Of course, this isn't the question that is intended for this thread necessarily, but it could just be an easier place to ask it so that there will be one response without a medley of critical remarks.
Trust me (and you may not feel this way), I hate forum etiquette. I like to curse and go off topic and get into arguments. Yet I know it becomes increasingly important as a forum community grows, and just makes for a nice atmosphere if everyone follows and the admins aren't too stringent. (I could have been banned like 5 times already)

yes, my first idea is that the pvpve system by itself shows that the devs are trying to incorporate new ideas for gameplay beyond the stunning graphics. the added importance of flight mechancics, and their statements about changing that way we look at grinding show that they really care about the issues their gamers have. at present we don't have enough info to really get into an informed discussion about Aion's game mechanics. however, i do believe that from what we've heard the devs are trying very hard to overhaul the gameplay to suit their customers. in answer to your question... no, at this time i don't have any doubts about Aion whatsoever.

Every game has its flaws but I honestly think the devs are taking alot of time to make sure it's a really good game. It's not like they rushed beta out, and from what the last gameplay vids looked like (from which I'm sure the game has progressed alot anyway) it seems pretty fun

My major issues with games don;t usualy come from choices that developers make, rather from the descision they make to not give the player chioces
for example give me an option to autoface my target, and auto range to my target (like GW's or Lineage 2) OR the option to stay static till I move (Like WoW, Vanguard) don;t just pick one! SOme players hate one or the other...personaly I WONT play a game where I have to constantly read "you are not facing your opponet" or "you are too far away" why...well I play with a beer in one hand I and I can't be bothered to work that hard :P Seems like silly reason, but it's true. I hate to grind anyway, so don;t make it more of a chore for me (by not automatic) or more of a drag for others ( by forcing it automatic). LEAVE OPTIONS . this extends to MANY things....click to move....wasd...enter chat....total key mapping....chat and window options..the whoe nine yards.....

To me they havent spent to much time on that stuff bc we have no clue whats going on. All we know they could already done all the stuff adn now are focus on making the game look good and to making the more original will make it less 2nd rate. Anyways like I said befor its to early and we dont enuff info to know what they are doing right now what you see int he vids are just demos of the game from what iv read. To me I really dont care if they spend alot of time on that stuff bc i love games with somthing to look at and a game thats not like the rest. Ncsoft been working ont he game for some time now and to the graphics was ok but now they have made it alot better looking and made the game free flight. Ncsoft is a very good comp and to I dont think they will only care how good it looks bc they want it to be the best game out on the market and make there name even bigger then it is now.

I have doubts about every game I'm hyped about. I followed a game very closely for a year only to be disapointed and I don't want to do it again.
Though with Aion I'm coming pretty close, I'm still keeping other games on the side line just in case this doesn't work out for me. But on the other hand I'm very hopeful for it too. ![]() |
