It's a lie. Aion will be released 2009, so don't believe a date stated with 2008.

Next is the stigma system which is according to Atreid to allow individualization of characters and will not cause balancing issues. We were told that all stigma stones are bound to specific classes and most are not functional in the beginning. First you need to get the required level and a stigma stone allowing you to use stigma stones with specific skills. Some stigma stones will have the same effect but will be restricted to special professions. This means you could find a stone giving five percent more hitpoints but it is only for the ranger profession. But somewhere it might exist a stone giving the same benefits to your profession.

Well in this article... after reading this passage here, I was starting to wonder. When they said Ranger profession, are they saying that all classes will only be able to learn a certain profession? Like Sorceror would prob be only able to go Tailoring?

Or did they just word it wrong by accident and that the Professions aren't restricted to a particular class, and that they just ment to say this certain profession that this ranger chose?

In this article, profession means class. Ranger class, Sorcerer, Templar, etc. They were talking about stigma stones and that not every stone can be equipped by everyone, there will be stones only certain classes can use.

They would probably use the word 'tradeskills' for naming crafting professions, but this part of the article has nothing to do with those.

Any1 can pick any 'professions' aka tradeskills here in Aion.

It doesn't say the contents because they haven't been decided on or announced yet. Actually, even the fact that there will be a CE hasn't been officially announced, but I think it's pretty likely.

Hey aionsource,

I have a question about the server system I heard every server will have about 4-5k players. Now my question is in Age of Conan all these people get split up in different channels which i really HATE. Whats the play for AION just like lineage 2 and wow 1 server all people in just the same world or an aoc system ?

I searched but couldn't find any clear answer.

The majority of the content will be open world, with a few instances related to quests and possibly some group/raid areas. I has been announced however that during the first couple weeks of launch, the newbie areas will be instanced to cut down on lag and spawn inconvenience.

So it will not be AoC/GW style, it will be WoW/L2 style as far as we know.
