well, actually you could make the char taller and shorter since CBT1, but now you can rank from very tall to really small, thus making an even more evident difference.

please excuse me if this has been answered, but has there been any talk of a limited edition of Aion releasing when the regular edition comes out?

Nothing official yet, but most likely yes.

Here's your answer :

Yes, AFAIK you have to face the enemy

But that doesn't exactly answer my question down to detail . There really isn't much reason to know or ask right now as I'm pretty set on playing a sorcerer anyway, but I just want to know out of curiosity. I saw the video of the spirit master vs. gladiator and it seemed like some of the spells didn't require him to be facing the gladiator at all. He would wind up the spell and even though the gladiator was behind him, he still got the spell off. *shrug*

The one main annoyance I have with having to face the target when the spell ends in a game that has no collision is that I would have spent the time to wind up the spell and have it fail because the target simply moved through and behind me. It was a HUGE annoyance in WoW and made no sense to me and obviously put the casters at a disadvantage because the melee classes can just circle around you without much problem.

Another question I wanted to ask is whether or not there is a spell pushback system when you take damage. It didn't seem like that the video gave the spirit master any spell pushback from getting hit.

That is intended. As a caster you have to get your distance, otherwise melee dominates you in no time. All intended, all intended.

The problem comes in when the melee classes have abilities to slow you and close in on you from a distance without problems leaving you without many options at all to get away.

Yea, but this is also intended. But as a mage class you have also snare abilities to keep melee at range. You have to nuke them, before they get in melee range.
And I've seen some new vids, where the Spiritmaster can use fear to get more range.
Also mages are supposed to have the blink ability, if I'm correct.
Don't worry, there are already many possibilities (skills) ingame that help you getting back your range after the enemy is in melee range

But that worries me on the other end of the spectrum. How would that be fair to melee classes if you can stay at range on a constant basis? Do they also have skills to close in on you as well?

The video I saw did have the spirit master fear the gladiator but I'm not sure what limitations there are. I.e. are you able to attack them when they're running or will they break from it when you hit them?

They have speed skill that increase movement speed like 200%, so it's even again.
As for the video: We don't know yet We don't have exact descriptions how all of the skills are working. Maybe it's possible to break free from fear, maybe not, maybe it's 10 secs static fear, maybe it has diminishing returns, etc, etc.

2 Quick questions:

When Aion releases will it automatically be available to play with the standard NCsoft Time card or will it have it's own?
Will Aion have titles (i just love titles)
