Real Estate!
Should players be able to buy/sell/upgrade homes? I'd really like to see an expansive real estate system. Buy a house in any region of your faction's territory. If you don't like your home, you can sell it to someone else. And you can buy furniture (hopefully cheaper than in FFXI). You could also have contractors expand your home, or add special features.
Another thing, do you think there should be an unlimited number of homes to purchase, or should there be a set amount which would be fairly large, and just market those. There is one advantage to having a set amount. It would be more realistic in that everyone wouldn't have to go through one portal to enter their home. They'd have their own separate locations. These places could even be used as forward bases for raids and mass PvP. This would also offer guilds the ability to have their own bases.

All we know about housing right now is that there will be some in the cities. I don't know where I read that, probably in an interview somewhere.

i like the idea of real estate, but being in cities only. plenty of space for rent, probably instanced, either for guilds or for individuals--and the ability to decorate with items and hopefully more interaction between furniture (ability to sit, be able to seat a few people if the couch if big enough, for example.) upkeep fees of some sort.
this preference of mine comes from my days in SWG just pre-launch when everyone was in the cities and there were tons of people always about. with the addition of player housing and player cities the need to be in cities decreased--leaving all the beautiful environments complete ghost towns except for major PVP battles or a select cantina where you'd find entertainers--afk entertainers >.< |

![]() I could image them in the sky, near the capital city, you could choose between instanced districts (u can choose a house there), and u can only see your own dist (+ if uve been invited, you could go to the other ofc). So there wont be lag, but still looks like a real city.

Perhaps the property costs more depending on how far away from the capital it is. That way, players are encouraged to spend time in the cities, and serious guilds and players can have their little forward bases.

Makes me think of the mmorpg simpson's episode where Marge furnishes Bart's castle with the new "Hello Kitty" expansion furniture ...
What I want to see is that Aion gives some use to houses. It's stupid to make a house sit in it and start whispering to people while being bored. I'd like to be able to be able to craft in my house, be able to cook and maybe have an anvil outside where I could blacksmith some gear for my character, they need to make houses fully interactive with any item available. I remember reading there'll be a combination of auction houses and private NPC shops in Aion. Can't remember where. Someone else must know.

I really like all of these ideas.
For me I'd like to see something like a guild base, where only guild members are able to enter unless if you invite other people with a temp key. Something like in the anime .Hack//Roots. |

yeah your right mark i remenber reading it to.. apparantly they are using a auction house system and there will also be the ability to set up your own NPC shop, I have a gut feeling your gonna have to do something really hard to get access to the second option

I think that I would rather see the housing similar to FFXI's so that the world doesn't get cluttered with houses.
