how do you want aion to be updated?

im making a poll of this question because i am deeply curious of how players will want aion to be updated here are two choices

regular patches with expansion packs:aion could have patches every 1 or 2 months uncluding new quest,areas,pvp gameplay,mounts,pets,weapons,armor,forward storyline,npc,new features like flying mounts,new items,new character creation methods,new features like swimming underwater and underwater professions,new tradeskills/professions,new methods of travel,and also new combat skills,and with expansion packs released every 2-4 years it could include really huge updates and neat things inside the expansion box like trading card game or wrist watch etc.

episodic updates:every 6 months to 1 year their could be a new chapter in the game including a few new features and storyline forwarding.

i for one will like the first option with the 15 dollars a month they make from every player patches could include really cool features every few months and expansions would be cool.

episodic updates will be boring because it would probably take a long time just for one small updates.

so my vote would be patches and expansions.
hopefully everyone would vote the first option.

Here's mine: maybe instead of making polls with few choices we could simply start a thread asking people the same question generally.

As for the question it really depends on how the game will work and what will be healthier for it. I do believe in a strong game that is updated regularly but I'm pretty flexible on how regular that can be. If expansions add significantly to the game , like new races and areas, classes, armor ect.. Then I'm all for them, episodes are cool too, I'd even go for a mix of both. In conclusion I don't really mind either way I guess ^_^

@Shura:Hey, polls are forums features just like threads. If people want to make useless ones, let 'em go ahead and do it. It gives us regulars something to laugh at. I don't care for polls, so I just don't vote on them. I hardly ever respond in them unless it's like this or to purposefully throw the discussion off-topic.

Would you want every new thread to be closed just because it's dumb? I mean, I agree with you here, this poll is pretty useless, but it'd be equally useless for me to close it. It's not worth closing. It's not as if he posted child pr0nz or something.

I would go for an update every month, but not some bug update though. I would want something new every month instead of making a bunch of hype over an update that takes like 2 or 3 months to do.

The hype will just make the update look good even though it probly could of been better and then be done with the new content in less than a month.

1 update per month would keep me happy and not bored.

Yeah l2s updates take 6 months. Which wouldn't be so bad, but it occasionally takes them that 6 months to fix big problems, and bugs that could use more immediate attention.

I would like to see the game updated pretty consistently with fixes, tweaks and balances. I don't want to play another game where there is an extremely broken class or skill for half a year. They can wait long periods of time to add new content patches. But I really hope they fix balance issues, and bugs as soon as they can.

I'm with Ecronyte - small tweaking for balance/bugs should be continuous, while large updates should be every 6 months. I don't want to go through tedious waiting every 2 days because of new content. Totally new updates should be a finished product.

wellll i would like to see an update system like the one in the City of world.

basically you get patches now and then which solve a per current probs and stuff and then every few months you get a big update which has stuff like

adding veteran awards
invention system
new powers sets
increasing level cap
etc...

so something similar but updated with aion like stuff e.g. new areas, incresing the level cap and adding new pvpve content etc

I like the way Lineage2 did it. Free updates every 2-4months which included lots of new features. Although I think that Lineage2 wasn't a complete game before it got update to C2.


I mean c'mon no texture on level 40+ armor on release. Everyone looked the same.(That red suit, looked like the salamander set grade D)
