Level Up!

I have a question, I forgot wear I read this but I believe I read that to level up it is going to be on the same lines of Guild Wars. You complete a quest to gain EXP but you kill can kill creatures to gain EXP as well. Can some one show me where that thread is at or confirm that for me?

MMm thats not just a guild wars system... thats pretty much every system. Exp is gained by completeing questions or killing creatures or in some cases pvp. I would assume Aion is no different

I am sure that the leveling system will be similar to other MMOs currently on the market, although I would expect Aion to have its special mark on their system.

My guess is that Aion will be the same as other MMOs... Not much else you can really do for exp. Unless you get exp for PvP.

kill 20 things get xp from monsters go back to town tell them you have killed 20 and you get a bunch of xp by handing in that's how most work.

I want Aion to wrk in every way you can getxp through monster killing, quest and PVP. I also believe you should get bonus flight tie if you kill someone in the air.

Depending on the death penalty in PvP, t'would be a bit shaky whether having exp from PvP. For example, if you get exp cut from being killed in PvP but no exp bonus for killing someone, an active pvper would end up going backwards in exp. So if they carry a exp death penalty for PvP then they're gonna have to have the exp bonus from PvP. Getting to the point, once we have one of the two mines of info we'll be able to work out the other ^^

I would assume the PvE exp will remain usual mmorpg deal, as NC haven't made any large claims to a unique exp system as of yet.

wouldn't think they would make the PvE any different to many people are use to the standard way, Though i wouldn't mind a new system as long as they were able to apply it well.

pretty sure ncsoft stated xp lost will be minimal in pvp, but it will be there.

I think if you kill another player in pvp you should recieve exp like this. if they are level 25 you should recieve 25% of their exp.

Losing xp from dying in pvp is ill advised, and here's why. Imagine your a casual gamer and by the time you hit like 20 or 30 some burnout in the other faction is at max level. What happens if he decides to camp you? If I lost xp from that kinda stupidness, I'd be very. . . dissapointed

However, if you lost xp from someone of a lower level than yourself or at least someone within 3 or 4 levels of your own, that's tolerable. I like the idea of gaining xp from killing other players because if you think about it, real people are a lot smarter and more strategic than any AI used in video games, so you would learn more from killing them anyway.

To comment on the OP: quest xp is good and all, but I just hope they don't pull what a Blizzard. Aion needs to have a plot that's interesting and, well, existant to keep me subscribed to the game. Give me a reason to play other than grinding to the top, please.

I expect they'd impose a restriction on the exact circumstances of death to stop that, so that you only lose exp when killed by someone of an equal level (give or take). Of course, it's been noted to be an almost insignificant amount of exp anyway so it won't be a months grind gone so much
