Newbie Armor

It's really just a cosmetic concern, but I do worry about the armors in Aion. I hope they don't carry the trend of brown rags as your level one armor-- So far I haven't seen any evidence of it, but still. Nothing depresses me more than feeling like a pauper the second I sign on.

Also, I'm hoping they don't stick us with another "At level ten you can wear the shirt, but you can't actually wear the whole ensemble until level 15 BECAUSE WE'RE GOING TO GIVE IT TO YOU PIECE BY PIECE" deal. I like to feel cool when I'm out leveling, not tacky because I'm wearing mismatched armor =(

It's a morale thing for me =O Sure, if my clothes suck I'll definitely be motivated to level, but it's kind of like holding a prime rib just out of my reach-- I'll work for it, but I'm miserable in the meantime =(

From the looks of it we might not have to worry...I think in one of the interviews I saw a level one character with some spiffy armor, but then, that was a guy =/ When they created the female character she looked like she was wearing a brown sack. WHY.

(Adding in minor whining: I'm so tired of waiting on this game. GIMME AION NAO NCSOFT. I've seen your senior designer. I'll beat the crap out of his skinny asian *** if I have to.)

Well were suppose to be able to customize our clothing, so if we hate a color of one piece of a outfit we can change it...I hope they give us some tribal designs

That's another thing I'm wondering about...I know we can do facial tattoos at character creation. I wonder if we can buy/create tattoos in other areas? Or if we can actually see the jewelry we wear...

I am hoping that this part of the creation is similar to EQ's. In EQ one could change his/her facial features at anytime.

Oh look you've got the "Ring of Eternal Storms" and yet you can't really show it off...this would also apply to Helmets, Necklaces, etc. otherwise just give me a perment stat buff and quit wasting resources and time on creating "pictures" of the items I'm wearing.

I'd like to be able to wear some earrings, too. Really, I think it's just laziness on the developer's fault when you can't even see parts of your armor. That and the ones that all look exactly the same.

i would like them like i have mentioned befor to have just clothes like 400 peices and more get added to it as you get higher and theredefensive stats are determind by stones that you add to them or something along them lines.

Stones-- like the card and slot system?

I like that, actually. It leaves me more room for deciding what stats I want, and considering Aion's stats are static, more room for customizing my character's strengths. If they go that route I hope they add some that allow you to use extra skills (I'm thinking along the lines of Ragnarok, here) and give resistance to certain attacks. Not to the extent of RO, though-- I think they went a little too far with their Golden Thief Bug card (wtf, 100% magic resistance?). The mirror card was fun though, LOL.

From the looks of it I'm assuming we'll get more than just the standard gloves/boots/shirt/pants/helmet deal though. I'm just guessing from the armor color video (because they could change the color of the shoulder armor but not the actual top armor itself).

Hun..Nc soft has already stated many many many manyyyyyy times that aion is going to be abotu costumization.. you can even dye your wings.. so don't worry about aion visualy, Aion is very flashy visualy and is all about looks we all knw that the only worry is actual GAME PLAY , my main worry is the skill system , I hate most mmorpg's skill system.. all of the classes get the same exact skills . Even wow's talent points system ode snot make a big big difference.


I would like to see the very core of all actual skills based on your skill tree, not just enhancements...

Something else to think about... there is a reason that you start off looking plain. If you have 50 levels to go, and you already look super awesome at level 1... then people are gonna be bored because there isn't a new set of cool armor to get. because all the armour will look awesome, so you wont see any visual progress.

The way they do it now, is you start off looking like a begger , so that when you are level 50 and you look back you can say, "Wow! I really look awesome now!"

I see your point, but then that would mean that the level 10-40 armors would look like crap, too. It's possible to look "poor" without looking ugly.
