Mounts in aion???? (working properly now)

well im not sure if its bn done but if so oh well i didn't find anything on the search

well mounts are not gona be in release but will be in an expansion probally one of the first few.

well i wanted to make a poll about mounts before anyone else so ha to you sonicwhip i think i beat you =D

well since the flyin' time is limited, the mounts 'could be needed' right?
so I'll vote for walkin' mounts ^^ no flyin' thingies becouse otherwise flyin' will be too common and it won't be fun anymore

Mounts would definitely be fun, but I don't know if they'll be needed. It was already announced travel will be done by foot, flying, or by teleportation services found throughout the world. If mounts are added it might make the other ones obsolete/less effective.

No but really if we get mounts I hope it intergrates well with the game, but I won't be screaming for them either.

But I'd like ground based mounts. It really depends on the flight timer, though. Cool down (from watching the video) seems to only be a couple minutes. Like 2 minute cool for ever 1 of flight if I timed correctly. That wouldnt be so bad, but if you want to travel fast and still see the world from the ground up, I think you should have that option. Plus horses symbolize nobility and thats always nice to have.

I voted for no mount as we already have wings... for one reason mostly...

No game I have ever played has ever had a mount that felt real and organic. No mount I have ever had shouted to me that it felt as 'alive' as my character. Even in Lotro the horses feel very very static and ... well how do i explain it propery... only word i can really think of, is fake.

I would rather have no mount at all than have to sit on something that could just as well be a machine as a supposed 'living creature'

So unless they have make my mount feel like it is alive, i will just stick to my 2 feet and a heart beat. And some wings thrown in for luck.

I do not think there will be mounts in Aion. I think there was some discussion that there will probably be a mass transit system in place however. Something like boats and Zeppelins in WoW.

Their idea of transit as of now is teleportation, which sure its a fantasy world with magic, that works, and paths where the game controls your flight. Thats the one that bothers me the most. I HATE paths of any sort. Plus if I can only fly for a minute on my own, why should I be able to fly longer when I'm not controlling? It kills their own continuity. I would rather see teleportation only than have flight paths.

Anyway, I know what you mean, Dallyoop, about horses being so fake, but if anyone could do it and do it right, its the Aion team.

One can hope my friend... one can hope. But as of right now there is no mounts of any kind... which I must say i agree with until they can prove that they can create a real and alive feeling mount. But they have to prove it to the players first imo before they go around adding lifeless crap willy nilly.

i think if there were mounts they should be used for fast ground travel and fast exploring to a certain level,

plus if there were mounts i would prefer to see something more deer based than a horse because horses are the common mount seen in most games and well they are kinda boring and no where near as cute as the little feller from the anime princess mononoke (my internet's too slow to get a pic soz, type A****aka's(wont let me type the name fully) deer in google images) ^_^

pluss having really mythical mounts like unichorns and dragons seems well way to unimaginative and kinda farfetched if you know what i mean, i would prefer to see a horse mount than some kinda rly fat quadraped lizzard, and i dont like horses much.

Under that logic I'd say that the game is far enough along that most topic on the boards aren't worth discussing... However, this one being something that may or may not yet be implemented I'd say it's certainly worth discussing, however unlikely it may be that the devs actually take heed of what we're saying. That said, I'm all for discussing any topic that's relevant to the game. Even if there's zero chance what's being discussed will affect the game in any way it still gives us something to talk about during this way-too-long drought of real information.

6. Will there be mounts in Aion?

No. There are currently no plans to implement regular mounts in Aion. Transport will be done by foot or by flying. There will also be a long-range teleport system and short-range travel-services in which you let the game control the flight to your destination.
