I don't mind grinding to a degree but there is a point it becomes too much. There are better ways to keep leveling slowish while keeping it entertaining. If it's more than 50% grinding in the game then the devs just took the lazy arse approach. But this is a Asian game so I'd fully except it to go way overboard with grinding because most of them do.

dont get me wrong i love grouping due to the fact that i have to be less evasive and playing w/ ithers is usually a fun affair. but relying on others is not always the best choice. farming money(which is split between all party members) is not efficient at all, including farming for rare items. i also feel that parts if the story-line feel more intimate when done alone. i would be apalled if aions daeva quest was a group accomplishmenr. on top of this, i dont want to waste half of my playtime(which usually consists of 3-5 hours on weekdays) searching for groups only to find that the others dont know wtf they are doing. there should be at least 30-40% solo play and then the greater majority should be group effort. |

I hope Aion eliminates levels after lvl 50 and focuses on special abilities and bonuses after that. Like being able to double jump, fly longer, grow a fin and swim underwater, maybe a few class based boosts which add a hand full of stats focusing on your character type, advanced stigmas, higher level skills and combos, and other special moves.
These are the things which really make the gameplay more fun, another few levels to grind isn't that impressive. I'm not saying they shouldn't I'd be fine with lvl 100, but if they escalate too much, they have to change the abyss all around to offer a challenge for higher level characters, and make a new area for characters of the previous cap level to participate in, or vice versa.

If you killed that one epic boss (assuming you mean Antharas, Baium, Frintezza, or Valakas) by yourself, then yes. However that's not possible, so, no, you couldn't/can't get a full level by killing one of the "Epic bosses".

"A feature that is currently on a planning stage is to randomly open teleportation portals in the Elyos and Asmodian lands. This would allow for very random, occasional battles where even lower level players get a chance to experience PvP, without it being a constant threat and presence." While it is an old interview, it shows level advancement and pvp have been in the minds of the developers. Adding new levels to a game also means adding new content to explore and of course new abilities. I think most people would welcome new levels at expansions, or whenever. Leveling is a huge part of games like these. When it is done in excess, well that just means the game is now old :P |

I didn't mind the party grind in FFXI. The main thing I hated about that game was the amount of time you were seeking (I remember seeking for at least three hours on Bard at level 25, even though I had a lot of CHR and MND gear, and Mage's Ballad!), but I also wouldn't want to go through all that grinding again, there's have to be some more casual play.
I didn't mind WoW's questing, but sometimes it got even more boring than the party grind in FFXI. I did love how it felt a lot more casual though.

I don't mind a grind if the whole game is not centered around one. Having to grind a couple days can be fun with the right setting and goals. I'll probably end up farming like this anyway at some point so there is no escaping it for me.

well... ppl got real life stuff to do too, right ?...
so, if the leveling is soooo slow.. like more than reasonable rate... it will not be fun to play. that is what i think

I dont mind grinding sometimes as long as there are enough mobs to support it.

I remember ending up hating people in FFXI cause of fighting over mobs. We would grab a mob, and some guy goes ape skat. That was our mob blah blah blah. Then we end up not leveling cause we are arguing. Oh the fun times.

I never understood why people got so harsh about that. I mean... your claim... your mob. Unless you're continously stealing mobs from someone else's camp, there's nothing wrong with it and you don't place your camp directly beside another Party. Then again, those discussions sometimes got more interesting than the leveling itself. lol
