My one problem with Aion...
The way you move. Or should I say the way you interact with the world. It ust doesn't feel fluid. Like when someone is fighting a mob, and they use a weapon skill. The effects are cool, the sound is cool, but the way it's executed... I dunno, just doesn't feel "right". I know that they're going to fix it before Aion comes out, but I wonder how.
Anyone agree?

It is a bit unusal. Its not just teh characters either in some of then vids and ss you can see a tree there or a bush here that just isn't fully intergrated for some reason.
They have mentioned it will be fixed.Tho how i wouldnt be able to say. It's prolly a result of different teams working on different game aspects, they just havent gotten teh transition of everything fully there

it looks a little odd to me the character will just stand there and not auto attack.i understand the devs want players to actually be active in combat, but without an auto-attack, it looks a little odd.
for movement, it looks like the animations are a little too fast for how far characters are moving, or too slow for how far the characters are moving. looks like they hover above the ground a bit and don't make a connection to the ground. i cant quite place it. it's the ice-skating effect. they'll probably fix it tho. |

The graphics aren't quite done yet, they need some extra polishing before off release. But I bet they will take care of it.
Regarding the combat mechanics, I noticed too that the moves aren't very fluid (too fast or too slow movements when using skills, as srinknorei said) and the transition from one skill to another isn't very fluid either. I don't think it's a piece of cake to enhance the mechanics, but there is time. Personally, I really don't mind too much, since I'm only impressed by the effects and the overall graphics for like 1 month. After that, things tend to get repetitive in some ways and I just focus on my gameplay. The idea is that the game needs some more polishing and the good news is that there is time to do it. I bet it will look much better when it will have the final release. |

I noticed some "off" things as well watching all these videos. Could also be the person's graphics, and if it is the actual game I am sure they'll fix it. As much as we want the game, I dont want them to rush it out and have it look like that the first couple of months.

I've also noticed that certain aspects are not fluid at this point. Hopefully NCSoft will fix this eventually, after all they still have a few months before things with Aion really start to take off.

To fully polish a game it would take long long years. I dont think theres a problem with launching a game with a few miner details unpolished tbh, the devs will always work on the game, even after coming out, it will always get updates, but it all takes time. I just dont want the game coming out with major gameplay bugs.
Like Lavi said, my only problem with Aion is not being able to play it ![]()

i honestly don't know what you guys are talking about lol, maybe it looks weird because you're not the ones playing? i remember watching WoW vids before i played it and thought the animations looked very weird but once i played it the gameplay just connected quite easily

I agree with you. In fact, this is one of the major issues that Korean beta testers are all complaining about. The stiffness/"unnaturalness" is very noticeable in pvp vids. Hopefully, the dev team will give it a serious thought.
