Not sure if this has been asked yet so sorry if it was. I have been busy the past couple of days and will continue being busy the next month. So forum catching up is on hold again. ><

I was wondering if anyone knows how the servers are going to be?
How many servers. Are they going to be split based on Country? Any information would be awesome.

No informations yet. Maybe region servers, maybe country servers, maybe not. We don't know.

I think one huge server for everyone would be pretty sweet (provided that it could handle the load). Would make for some pretty epic battles...

I hope there isnt alot of servers like WoW or FF11. That really turned me off to those two games in addition to other things. I dont want very thin player base on each server especially with the talk of the pvp. More players the more resources get brought into the game and more pvp. Downsides of course, but who likes playing on a dead server?

They annouced that the game will be trnslated to German French and English and that there will be a base in US EU and Korea.

Teh number of server, if we can play on each others servers and other infos have not been released.

Usually on the start about 1 or 2 servers for ocidental players, kinnda don't know if there will be a eu server on the start, the have never putted one on the start, but i guess we will have more info about this on december.

I'm /assuming/ that there will be at least 5-6 servers in the long run. When the game comes out, they might only have around 3, but I'm sure with the hype on Aion there will be a lot of new gamers very quickly, so they'll probably add a few more servers to handle the load.

That /would/ be pretty cool, but I'm about 99.99% sure that there won't, seeing as though
1) You can only be 1 race on a server. I'm sure they'll want players to try characters from both races, so right there they'll have to add in 1 other server.
2) The lag would be scary... very scary, sure to start out it would be fine, but as Aion grows I don't think 1 server could handle everyone.
and 3) I'm thinking they'll split the servers into something like, 1) USA, 2) EU, 3) Korea and possibly an Oceanic or International server, that way players could 1) Play with others who speak the same language as them, and 2) Play with others who are in the general timezone. Although it would be extremely sweet, [Imagine all the people defending/attacking the Abyss. O_O!] it'd be too difficult. Sorry. ):

Im not sure about euro servers honestly, considering this game's concept they better release global ones.

Just imagine for a second that an american clan goes into an european server, they would have a huge advantage due to the low competition at those hours theyll play at, and they would be able to dominate fortresses for the time they are ingame.

Then when they're sleeping the EU's would come and dominate the fortresses the US clan had. But still, competition between the EU's would be far greater than that between the US, which is why it will either be a few Global servers, or EU /and/ US servers. [And Korean, possibly.]

Yeah... That happened in Ryzom, where one guild occupied an outpost and another group would come in while they were sleeping and take their outpost... Totally unchallenged.

There will be a LOT of that during this game.

With open attack at any time of day, AND the Balaur never sleeping, I can see the fortresses switching half a dozen times per day... Lol.

Well the game is korean, they WILL have their local server don't even question this. About global server? REally don't know, they usually putt 2 servers capable to handle a huge income (they will probably crash on the mass login of the first hours of live server) for both America and Europe, and, if they see there is a real demand they will put something local for europe and us.

It's my personal opinion offcourse, but it's based on what they did on Lineage 2.
