Titles [thisisgame.com]

This is not a translation of a post, but rather a collection of information that I gathered by reading bunch of posts at their forum.

It seems that Aion's concept of "titles" differ from traditional use of titles in L2 and L1. They are not simply lines above names that you can write whatevers on.

So what is a title? In Aion, title is an "equippable" item acquired through quests/missions that gives you stats.



In the screenshot above, the character is currrently equipping a "Tolbaz's Problem Solver" title. So it says Tolbaz's Problem Solver 한낫 (the char's name) on the character.

It also says it on the window that Tolbaz's Problem Solver title gives following stats:
Strength: -5
Speed: +2

This character also has 3 other titles, including Poata's Guardian, Elm's Friend, and Scarecrow's Friend.

This "Title" feature feels like Tatoo in L2, -stat +stat

Like d the concept, but they should have imagine better titles, then "this guy solved this quest", maybe better one's will show up on the final game on higher lvls.

Its nice to be innovative, but Im not digging this idea.

If I get a wicked title like, Knite, "The uberest of uber town" I'm gonna wanna wear it. if it gives me -10 str and +10 dex, but I my abilities rely on STR, well Im downright screwed and I now can't wear my favorite title without it impairing me.

Why not have a trinket slot that is equipable and when you get a title, you get a trinket to equip. That way you're not stuck with "Cleaner of Stables" cause it gives you +20 STR.

Lol, that's also what I'm worried about. I don't really like the title names.. I'd prefer that they're not visible or that there's an option to not display the title name.

Cheesyness aside, I kind of like the idea! And I'm sure if "The uberest of uber town" gives a substantial dex bonus, any other titles that boost any of the other stats will be just as uber, if not uberer.

I think this is a nice feature. From what Elliot says it seems like you can only have 1 title active at a time but you can collect the titles and switch them out. So in town you might be the 1337 Dragonslayer and when you go pvp you could use somethign that give + HP and in PvE you could use yet another title to say, increase your resistance.

Yes you can gain either titles or stats in LotrO, I kinda like getting both at the same time.

I liked GuildWar's new titles from GWEN and how easy they were to get. It was kinda fun to get one, I finally got my first title in GWEN. Then I stopped playing, I was bored.
