Sorry for the noobish question. But I'm used to L2, where you design your own tags.

How do emblems like these work?

in DAOC they offered different patterns and color schemes, whihc is what this looks like. Although I really liked the custom ones in L2. btw i like the skull one the best

How do emblems like these work?

i'd assume it works kind of like WoW's guild crests. u pick from a pool of predesigned emblems and have them displayed on your tabards (in aion's case, i assume equipments and flags?) The reason for this is probably because it's more aesthetically pleasing than player-designed ones (ive seen some pretty horrible designs in L2) which don't always seem to 'fit in' or look horrible when displayed on equipments. There are no 16x8px guild 'icons' in Aion either, so that i wouldn't be really concerned with.

Well I will miss doing emblem designs.

But you are right that giving everyone creative control makes for a lot of hideous design choices.

oh also, can multiple clans use the same emblem?

according to an early interview, we can print them to our shields as well, that would be cool.

Imagine a siege with over a hundred players all wearing the same colors and emblems. That would be a lot better than just a bunch of random guys.

Wow, I really like the designs they're coming up with, I hope they will have a decently big selection to choose from so we don't constantly see the same emblems running around all the time
