I am so glad that Aion has the same macro system as FFXI, in essence. I loved having all proper weapon swaps done at the same time as spell casts for my red mage, having equip swaps in my weapon skills for my ninja. Honestly, I love optimizing my equipment swaps for the 1337357 damage.
Thank you for the great news, Jamie |

Hooray. L2 macros (no, really, I do enjoy this fact).
Simple to build, handy and (lol) don't worry, you WON'T be able to set up any type of bot using them. L2walker macros a waaaaaay much more refined and use different extras like maps that allow the toon not to get stuck on trees, rock etc., they also can probe the HP of mobs to switch target only AFTER the previous one is dead. Otherwise you'll end up with xxxx half-dead mobs aggroed on you and die. Other thing about these macros (still talking about my experience from l2 but they seem to be very much like thos in Aion) can only have a limites number of lines (hmm... 8? 10? something like this), they "break" easy ("break" being "stop commensing") - the longer they are the easier it is to break them. It's enough to hit enter to write something, open skill list, change skill bar, move, if character gets attacked etc. So even if you create a super-duper macro it's easy to get stuck in the middle of it. That's why the most usefull are short /target macros (/select in Aion) that allow to select specific player by his name if needed, /useskillforce macros (in l2 in order to attack someone in PvP you need to hold down Ctrl key - it's called "force attack", with this macro you just select a target and click on skills without the Ctrl key) and buff macros, armor change macros (with /useshortcut x y command) There is a drag-drop feature, but I'm not sure to what extend. I always type. |

Delay is the only one that looks out of the ordinary to me, i wonder how high that can be set. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets taken away due to people abusing it some how.

never used macros in any game, never saw the point. Thoug i do hope they allow you to have more than just one bar of icons up, I like how wow allowed you to have 3 or 4 i think bar on the screen, I like to know wat skill i can use. I also hope they allow you to place these skill bar were ever you want them cause i really don't want to have 5 bars down the bottum.
Also so happy aion isn't coming out till mid next year.... new computer agian by then.

There is not much you can do with it apart from some shout macro on the market (it would run something like this: (1) !WTS XXXX (2) /delay 1 (3) !WTS YYY (4) /delay 1 (5) !WTB ZZZZ (6)... "1" is 1 second delay). Botting with it? Hardly... |

I don't know, doesn't seem like it would be hard to make 90% of the game one button with that.
/select %autotarget /cast Hamstring Shot /cast Tertiary arrow /attack /delay 30(depending how long it takes you to auto-atk the rest mobs hp or you could add melee atks just making this short for an example) /use HPregen item /delay 30 /select %autotarget /cast Hamstring Shot and so on... Not saying you could just use this macro as a fully functioning bot, but it would automate a lot of the game. I know other mmo's now limit you to 1 skill per key push, seems the opposite direction of having a delay so you can lean back and relax while your char goes to town. EDIT: my avi fails, no dancing =( http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/9...6115984xb5.gif up the limit on file size to 50kb imo mark <3 Last edited by Postiez; 12-21-2007 at 07:02 AM.. |
