Elyos vs Asmodian

Just wondering if its been stated yet wether or not this game follows the common genre of other mmo's in the way of the Elyos, aka light elves in L2, Alliance in WoW, etc, does less dmg than the Asmodians do... or is it purely the visual differences. anyone know?

I dont think there will be any changes in dmg or anything like that if your a Elyos or asmodian.

I just think that some skills should be diffrent between Elyos and Asmodians if there isnt :P if there is then thats cool^^ havent read about the skills between Elyos and asmodians so much.

yea im just worried as elyos itll be all support stuff, and with asmodians itll be more dps orientated.

As of now, none of the questions you asked can be answered.

I can answer, however, from the perspective of DP, or Divine Power (please see our Wiki and search it if you do not know what it is). Divine Power from both factions will be very different. There has been a post somewhere about it.

However, from both my opinions and the information I can glean, I will predict the difference between Elyos and Asmodians will be primarily their Lore, Quests, Appearance, Skills, and Geography (which can include all items). That is the most I can conjure up as of now, but I'm sure there will be more -- others can add to it.

No one can answer question atm. As Kenshin has already stated check the DP wiki page or check out this thread.DP Skills Elyos VS Asmodians if you already havn't done so. From there you can draw your own conclusion.

I will have to say that the elyos skills look more towards PvE and asmodian skills look better for PvP.

Highly Unlikely... no

The Asmodians and Elyos will not be able to group. So in raids/etc Elyos would lack damage and Asmodians Support...

All that we know:

1) Asmodian and Elyos are enemies and cannot party or group together.
2) There will be some skills, such as DP, that will differ between teh 2 factions, so yes.. the differences will go beyond just appearance.

- Because there are difference in the skills im sure someone will say this skill is better then that, this side is more pve etc... but as we have not played the game and have not seen the full list of skills to campare then there is no way to anwser your question with a fact. Even after we get to play and get a list, its likely that this topic will just be opinioned based. Like your opinion of the wow allies doing less damage...having played both sides i would disagree. Either way, we will not know anything regaurding this for certin until beta/release.

If there were more than cosmetic differences I would think that it would make the tactics of PVE just more interesting. Probably not worthwhile considering that they would constantly have to readjust that based upon complaints about relative power. Then we go into a cycle of adding and nerfing. Thanks for the offer but I will have to pass.

I'm actually very interested in seeing how this plays out. I mean both sides needs to be balanced for their game. Easy way to do this is simple.. you got two seperate worlds. Enemy A that balances for Elyos wont exist in the Asmo world.

As long as stuff balances in the PvE world.. nothing to worry about. The major concern now becomes PvP. With this only time will tell.

I cant believe I completely forgot about them. I think they will be either extremely OP or extremely underpowered. Can't wait to see what they can do.

Although the fact that Balaur is featured in the G-star 2007 trailer, I would like to remind that the video clearly demonstrated what will follow after a faction has become too overpowered.

Asmodians easily defeated the Elyos despite their defenses in the Abyss but was soon overwhelmed by the appearance of the Balaur. Asmodians soon were defeated, and Elyos proved victorious. However, even that shows imbalance and the Balaur appeared once more to confront the Elyos army.

A flawless plan on the devs' part, if I do say so myself.

Horde had the shamans before BC, and orcs have the blood frenzy racial.

Lets not turn this ito another wow racials thread please. The skills and racials got so nerfed over the 4 years that its not even really relavent to pick out just a few.

There will be different DP skills for each race. We dont have a full list of them yet to compare the racials. Aion is not wow, althought its possible it might go down the same cry-babies whining and resulting nerf road... we are thinking positive on th is one.... Hopefull the Devs have really looked into these skills and balanced them in development or CBT.
