Stigma

I know there isnt much info that has been released regarding stigma, but i'd like to pose the question of certain classes becoming overpowered with this use. Such as a heavy damage dealer elementalist using stigma to wear plate armor?

Can i get some input and ideas on how Ncsoft might balance this out? I read something about how your character moves slower with heavier gear such as plate, but to me a plate wearing elementalist seems teh pwn. Anyone have any cool ideas on which combo you might be able to create taking something from another class and using it with stigma? Discuss!

ya thats true also if the ele might not get a power boost since he/she not in his mage armor

And would move slower since, you move slower with heavy plate armor on!

is there any other stigma options we have been made aware of yet to alude to the possibility of other gross abilities?

As I theorized in few other topics - the stigma might not give you the FULL benefit of the stats/defences along with some penalty.
What do I mean? As long as a mage wearing a plate will get a penalty to maga regen and slower cast speed/run speed (a penalty) and only basic defence boost (in comparison to classes that are "born" with plate armor wearing ability) it's ok I guess as the benefits of the stigma would be balanced by the drawbacks (slow and slowly casting mage who's got a very high survivability due to high p.def).
In other words - I do belive that there's going to be something extra a class gets from the fact it gets "passive" skill or skills that allows it to use a given armor type and this "extra" will not be granted by the Stigma, thus NOT creating a monstrosity like a mage with heavy armor defences, robe-like cast speed and run speed etc.

with plate armour the elementalist will not receive it damage bonus on spells and will most likely have less mana so you may be able to tank but 6 cast any your out not much good in battle if you cant do damage

Right now, being the skeptical (down-to-earth, if you will) person I am, it's difficult to assume any information of Stigma as of now. I've speculated certain things, but when it comes to Stigma, the information I have now is so vague that I don't dare to claim certain things.

Have you checked the AionSource Wiki? I believe we have an article on that. Feel free to edit it (provided you know how to generally work it) when you have official information.

Oh, and they're not called Elementalists anymore. They're Spiritmasters.

I assume they will indeed make certain drawbacks when using "unnatural" abilities (casters in plate for example).
People will then have to see what suits them best, and how they wanna play the game (solo vs. group comes to mind).

You would have to assume gear types (cloth, leather, plate etc) have certain stat types associated with them. A Mage wearing plate won't get the beneficial spellcasting stats that come with cloth armor for example.

That negative effect may be negated... Since I'm not sure if your stats effect the Elemental you summon.. Sure your attack spells will be weaker/slower - but you'll still have your elemental (spirit beast/whatever else you want to call them) and you'll be able to take more melee punishment..

What would be the point of stigmas in the first place if they didn't make you any stronger? Noone would buy them... so the pro's must outweigh the cons (with the right combinations at least..).

Great point. I agree with your perspective on Stigmas having a significant part in battle.

The reason why in L2 summoners don't use heavy its because they heal their summons, and with heavy armor they'd loose casting speed and MP, gaining only a bit of defence and whatever the melee bonus the armor has on them, which ends up being useless for their play style, we can only assume how the spiritmaster gameplay is and which bonus can be found on armors, so we are way too far away from discussing this with a decent pov, im afraid.
