yeah Aion is the kidn of PvP I enjoy. It isn't some manditory forced ordeal but is filtered into the PvE aspect of the game. I just hope they don't give us manditory quests in Abyss ; I hate how in WoW people can camp hot quest spots and prevent low levels from advancing the story . Save that crap for end game :P

Indeed, camping is the best way to get this game to the suck level. I mean, it's bound to happen, but wen the game itself supports it, or calls for it, it makes it even worse.

I agree, if Aion can succesfully incorprate this idea of PvPvE and have the PvP mean something that results in PvE, it sounds so fresh and a huge/neccesary transition from typical MMORPG's.

The characters are fresh, combat system looks non-grind typical. So far so good...and i can only wait to see more

Ingame equip just isn't worth that much effort and by far not worth enough to compromise with my real life as much as that. I'd rather be a crafter and get the most expensive and best buyable equip instead.
I couldn't agree more really, 100% with you. Before I used to think that being hardcore was the real deal, but i've lost so much because of it and it's not worth it.

I would also think that Aion is bound to take some from Wow, obviously the devs want the game to be sucessfull and so it's only logical to look at a game that has received great sucess. Like, "what does Wow have that has earned a player base of 10 million?" and they look at that game to see what ppl want in a game. Not saying they do, but it would be logical.

Anyway, I really hope NCSoft go their own ways making Aion something different and unique.

They're modeling Aion after WoW. It's about PvP, they've stated that's where you'll get the real gear and the wing upgrades. There will also be instancing. But I believe they'll make it work better than any previous try.

erm instance will only happen for certain Bosses also PvP points isnt wear you get the real gear its just gear showing you PvP good. The real gear or I should say good gear is from the Abyss

Bonus if your guild controls a castle and the NPC merchants there can make you something extra awesome with aforementioned materials.
See now Mark hit the nail on the head....... NcSoft stated PvE will feel kinda like PvP since the mobs AI is pretty good

From what I've seen the PvE aspect will be just as, if not, more important than the PvP aspect of this game. Everything about this game is designed encourage roleplaying and fully emmersing yourelf in the world they are creating. The missions have small "cinematics" so that you can understand not only what you are doing but also WHY you are doing it.
I think this is a huge thing for an mmo. I've played several mmo's and all quests are text based and I think we are all guilty of skipping the backstory to see 1. where we gotta go 2. who we gotta kill or 3. what we gotta collect. The fact that they would put so much effort into this part of the game has to be some kind of a clue.
I do also PvP but at a more casual pace. Otherwise i just feel like a big bully picking fights. And they have stated, repeatedly, that this is a PvPvE game. it would be kind of silly to make a game and say "ok, first you run mish for the first 25 levels and then only run PvP stuff cuz the rest of the mish are crap."

The thing wrong with WoW is that people have this idea of being only a pve or pvp player from it, because all WoW pvp is in arenas/bg's and you have to chose to go do the pvp and not other stuff. In Aion, like L2, pvp isnt going to be in arenas (yes there is an arena, but its only for practise/fun), its going to be out in the open mixed in with all the questing and exping.

I am sure from what i have readed that this game wont be like wow by far. it is a mix if pvp and pve in one. and also short quest and instances. so that makes me happy since my game time has dropped far. i used to raid in wow 5 days a week mostly the other 2 grinding to cover the cost i made.

Yup exactly. In other MMORPGS, PvE and PvP are clearly seperated. So you have to choose: do i go for PvP or do i go for PvE? Greatest example for this is WoW, you need different builds and armor for PvP compared to PvE. I guess that is what ****es people off, not being able to chose between PvP and PvE. What is their second option then? Make another character, get it at max level and make it pure PvE or pure PVP. This is actualy a waste of time.

Being able to PvP and PvE at the same time is the best choice NCsoft ever made. Just go to the Abyss and grind some mobs for rare materials and kick the opposite's race their asses

In l2 they are seperated in the sense that when you kill a person its pvp, and when you kill a mob its pve, but anytime you goto pve, you should expect and 75/100 times get pvp.

Iv never been into PvP before (I seem to lack the expert strategy and technique to out wit other players) and for the most part there was no reason for me to get into it, but with Aion I think I can really get into it seeing as how you actually get exp, wing upgrades, armor, for participating.
p.s. my goal is to get the most beautiful wings possible.

EXACTLY. This is true for people who dislike 1+ toons, i like to put all my time and effort and have all my armor and hard work be used for everything, no PvP set or anything. Perhaps there will be a few pieces better fro PvP obviously but nothing like WOW.

They are going in the right direction with incoporating both at all times.
