how much do we know about the summoner class? is it going to be just like L2 where all the player does is buff and heal the pet, and that's it? is it going to be like WoW where the pet is secondary to the ability of the player? have any of the spiritmaster abilities been translated yet? the summons look ridiculously cool, but what else do they do?

I think he cant heal.. in one of the vid you can see that the water spirit is something with ranged attack...

Earth = Tanker
Fire = Damage Dealer
Water = Range? Maybe Heal
Wind = Heal? Maybe range

I could also have the Earth and Fire elemental roles mixed up, but I'm going sorcerer either way.

This has been discussed already. Cooldowns are of reasonable duration. Spiritmasters are apparently designed to be able to summon and unsummon spirits to accomodate the current battle situation. In addition, the MP costs are fairly low compared to that of other MMOs.

uhm probly very low seeing as how you have to switch thru ur spirits considering what arises. guessing around 2-5min cooldown max
