Wait, why is there even a race war?

Has NCSoft even announced if your restricted from rolling the other faction once you've rolled one faction on a server?

Is it still not very possible you could roll Asmodians and Elyos at the same time!?

Why do we even have this race war if we can potentially be both!?

I am faction neutral for I am of "the Chosen Ones." However, I would not be opposed if somebody were to post something along the lines of "Elyos rule and Asmodians drool!"

Yes, you can only play on one faction per server. If you want to play both, you will have to do it on separate servers.

Well, there's kind of a war...because...each side feels that they deserve to rule the world. But it's basically a hatred between the Elyos and the Asmodians, while the Balaur are watching, patiently, neutrally.

lol, without war there is no peace =P. and i like the conflict between asmo and elyo. cuz i kno once the game starts up were just gonna get worse. its like preparation hehe. cuz theres gonna be alot of elyo crying about how asmo rule pvp

The war has something to to with the Elyos and Asmodians having different ideas in the way the want stuff to work in the world. So after they had a war with the Balaur, which they banished away somewhere or something like that, they sort of faught between themselves and somehow managed to split the tower of eternity into 2, thus splitting the world into 2 leaving the top half for the Elyos and bottom for the Asmodians, and now they fight to gain control over the tower... Or something along those lines.

No time machines quite yet please. This is just an unproven myth perpetrated onto the general populace by the stupid WoW PvP system where Horde have been given clearly overpowered racial traits.

Evidence? When WoW began, Alliance complained about Will of the Forsaken being overpowered. Horde responded with QQ less and L2play. The few Horde who were brave enough to side with Alliance in stating WoF was overpowered were quickly shouted out by other Horde players. Blizzard, in a gross move of ignorance, eventually released a statement stating that WoF was in fact, "working as intended" and not overpowered. Further discussion was forcefully killed. Fast forward to the introduction of battlegrounds. Within a month, Blizzard introduces a patch that nerfs WoF with a statement that went something along the lines of "okay, WoF might have been a little bit overpowered." Of course, by now, this was news to nobody.

Also, I believe that the Blizzard post contained something along the lines of "WoW is not designed to be balanced in 1 on 1 combat" in addition to "working as intended." These quotes became the favorite tagline for a lot of Horde players, preempting a lot of critically needed re-evaluation of classes in need of re-balancing and leading to my current dissatisfaction of the rock, paper, scissors system.

I hardly see this as evidence. You just proved that Blizzard has bad judgment, who knows if them "fixing" it was the correct course of action.

This is true. Blizzard simply cannot be trusted to make good balance decisions.

However, all Forsaken had a massive advantage over classes with heavily Fear based combat strategies. Given that there was no equivalent Alliance ability and that Forsaken players were having a freaking cake walk over Alliance warlocks and priests, its easy to see where the initial belief that Horde were better than Alliance stemmed from. My point was that it is still too early to make any judgments on racial PvP superiority and that all evidence otherwise stemming from WoW can be immediately invalidated.
