i am aware that Aion is being developed for windows xp but i was wondering if it will be able to run on vista because that what i have atm and would really suck if i couldnt play cause of my os

Of course. I mean who would make a mmo that didn't support Vista? Imagine all the ppl who have Vista, it's next gen.

Im sure its vista compatible, and if not guess what? Vista has a built in thing called XP compatibility mode.

But the real question is - will it e made on the DirectX 9.0c platform or the DirectX 10 platform?

I vote DirectX 10 if anyone cares....

Yes, it will run on Vista.
Aion will also work with DirectX 9. What we don't know for sure is if Aion will have any DX10 options available for those that do have it.

i never heard of a game that worked on XP and not Vista...also I would imagine its on dx9, pointless imo for a mmo to use 10 right now.

Speaking of Vista and DirectX

Is there any chance that someone from the Korean CBT browses these posts? If so can you tell us what your system is like and how well it runs the game so us NA/EU folks can start guessing?

I'm sure the game will ship with Vista support, and even though Vista sucks balls as an OS, the fact that it is a 64 bit system and Dx10 ready, will, for sure, give the full eye candy this game deserves...only if Xp supported Dx10... *sigh*

next gen lol...^^ its just as stupid as windows milenium edition^^ both suck.. the patch support for vista is only to 2012 available xp to 2014 LOL^^

Actually Aion support only DX9. That is enough, the game has better graphics than every other MMORPG except AoC.

i had xp for years, needed to reinstall and format in every 3-4 months for different reasons.

I have vista since september, no reinstall since then...

True, i set every last thing to be similar with the xp interface, but i cant complain about its stability or non-supported funcions.

Yeah, im only 1 against many, but as long as im happy...

Vista works for me. Only problems I ran into were third party drivers and installation issues and I had installation issues with XP.
