What will they be doing with the players that were banned from past games such as lienage, guild wars, etc? Do you think they will be able to play AION and others without automaticly getting banned?
Edit: No I was never banned, I just think this will be an good post. Last edited by Daixiumos; 01-14-2007 at 02:34 PM.. |

No, I don't think they could ban the same people if they wanted to. They probably did the banning by account, and not IP. And even it were by IP, it's really not that hard to get a new one.

They'll probably get a second chance with Aion, at least until they screw up again.

Its common policy in mmo's to give new chances to players...
This often happens with resets too. Its even the case that when a company hosts a game in different regions, that a player can be banned from one region while still being able to acces another :P Anyways as zinrae said, it would be kinda useless to have an ipban carry over from game to game. (there are some methods that do work though, but I don't think that is the point atm :P). Neither is it legal to ban someone for going against the EULA of another game.

i guess if they haven't done anything stupid in aion then there's no reason for them to start out banned. maybe there could be a halfway house for them, or a house arrest where they have to prove they can play nice in the newbie area before they can move on?

But more on topic, ya ppl deserve a second chance... even a third, fourth,.... their "holiday" from the game they tried to ruin should just be longer each time :P @osric... I laughed so hard when I read your solution. 2 seconds later I realised that some mmo's actually have cellars in use for temporary bans ^^ tbh I love the idea but I doubt it will be in aion ![]()
