The Abyss - PvP Vs. Grinding: A Clash?

Well, what I hope is that there is no penalty for PvP and that if you are getting zerged in the abyss from someone who doesn't care, then that is your choice to be there. However, if they die in your faction's land, then they should be sent back to their home city or something to where they have to wait for another portal.

I don't want to see PvP penalties for death (at least xp hits) because then people will come in groups and raids and greif people just to slow their leveling. People will always find ways to be jerks not matter what system is implemented.

There are many people on various games that do that on purpose, lol. I for one get annoyed at that stuff, but it's all in fun, I mean it is a game after all. Ultimately, it's a very good way to show disrespect for another player, along with a rude emote or whatever.

The same happened in RF Online, Cora and Bellato getting to the high level areas first and both sides keep raiding each other, but most dumbest thing was a tank with high block training people where those mobs hit you for insane damage.
Hope it won't be like that, as someone stated before "The Mist" thingy to stop the pvp for a bit. To be able to PVE.
By the way "The Mist" movie was hillarious.

I don't see it as a clash at all, but rather, PvPvE =P

For example, imagine you're leveling your Character in the abyss, watching your back as much as you can, but also making sure you dont get killed by the mob. Surely there is a possiblity that whilst killing this mob, another player could come and attack you

I think what you are saying is that entering the Abyss and therefore being subject to pvp is optional, no?

It's my understanding that the Abyss is open pvp. Which is fine by me.

As for my take on it, it's fine. Sometimes I'll want to be in the abyss and sometimes I will not.

Aion is a game and I will play it as such. A diversion. I'll seek out what I want at any given time. As far as xp loss, good. You can't delevel anyway.

dont know if anyone has said this or not, but you get exp through pvp. you have a risk at dying, but if you kill the other player, you gain exp. worth the risk + fun.

Abyss is not FFA. It's RvR. You can't attack your own faction unless they agree to a duel.

Open PvP (RvR) is something I'm not fond of, won't see me in the Abyss that much.

I'm more of a fan of PvE, but I think this game will change that for me. I'm too competitive to pass on such a great PvP system like this. Beware Asmos!

i don't have any friends so i will probably be staying away from the abyss for a while . well not really, i can't pass up such fun stuff, although of course there are times when i want to be left alone ****ing around doing something by my lonesome....
