I think this is one of those little questions that could have a big impact on the player-base. While I enjoy being an American in an European guild, I just want to play Aion

Whats most likely going to happen is the servers will be international, however there will be country wide suggested servers a.k.a. (fake name time) Tibelena (server name) Tibelena - Europe Tibelena - North America Tibelena - China or w/e...thats what most mmo servers do...

Right, since this game is ALL about solo grind, NOT quest rewards / party / RvR...

They could simply make international servers and have regional servers. But even though the idea on the suggestion cycle, we don't know it will be taken into consideration.

Personally, i don't know if it will make too big a difference, because i tend to always end up seeing mostly people from my region on the international servers anyways, since there is the time zone difference, although i also like the idea of having a larger server, therefore more competition.

what is your region Taerr? I live in canada and you are as far away from me (nova scotia) as i am to some europe players...the time difference is the same.

Ah, but for me, the difference in time zones would be double your difference with European players, so while you may see some if not alot of european players, i will see very little. But thats just probably due to fact i can only play at specific times of the day. But i guess it also depends on when they play in their timezone

I would imagine the best option would be to give the player the choice of the type of server they would want to play on. World-wide servers would open up the entire Aion user base to eachother instead of being seperated, which has no down side if we are given the choice of server. I have zero understanding of how the cost of such things factors in, so I really cant say "There's no reason it shouldn't be this way".

As a side note on video games in general, they are becoming more and more global by the day. From all the experience I have had so far with all game types (FPS, RTS, MMO, etc) its ALWAYS more of a joy to be able to have and orginize such diverse groups with people from all over the world. It really adds to the flavor of a game, and in MMO's especially you can make new friends outside of your regions :P

yeah thats true...i have the best benefit to play with euros and north americans...people in central probably have it best...maybe you could hang with some aussies if you pulled a late night

. I guess my L2 clan is just full of no-lifers...most of our euros are on til like 5am their time...so i dont really notice a time difference when i head to bed at 2 or 3am

i mean like WOW there are 2 version Europe version and US version, in our country we almost play the Europe version becuase its the offical version and in wow if you played in EU server you can't transfer to US server i think !?

in aion if i purchased the US version i can play in any server or there will be a different in servers ?
