Naming Policy and Character Deletion.

I just wanna know if the naming system is like WoW's where you have just one name, no spaces(for example "Shammers") or like Guild Wars where people can have spaces in their names(Like the infamous and most retarded, Uzumaki Naruto, or Cloud Strife).

If only I had a penny for everyone who named themselves after Naruto or Final Fantasy characters. I would have bought everyone on this site a copy of Aion, the future expansions, and enough playtime to last for eternity.

but uhhh, I wonder if I can create a poll on whats not wanted about this naming system, etc, what everyone hates about the current one, etc and send the results to Ayase, maybe it will do someting o.O? I don't know.. But will the thread get locked up for some reason?

To clarify i didnt mean as in numbers or xXx, I meant in a filter for bad words...the reason I ask is I recently started to play WoW again, did a fresh start with a blood elf priest named Whoracle...after 2 weeks i was lvl 40, put some hardcore time in a week off from school...log in one morning and my name was reported as offensive and changed without giving me a choice to rename it...Using that name was my whole purpose of a priest, it has a lot of personal meaning behind it and I wouldnt have made a priest without it. So when that happened i just quit WoW and went back to L2 :/

Dont want that to happen again ...apparantly it was offensive to the little kids...but WoW's reporting policy and players are quite retarded...I'd honestly like to meet one of those ppl IRL who actually take the time out to report to a GM when someone swears in chat or something. It's quite rediculous, I hope they dont tattle like that IRL or they wont be making many friends....once someone told my friend "f*** you", my friend typed "no, f*** you"...the guy reported my friend, got a 3 day ban, and the guy who reported him didnt get anything.

It's the new carebear side WoW managed to bring into the MMORPG world. I actually value L2 for giving such freedom to the player. First of all, little kids don't belong to the internet, and certainly not to actually pay with real money monthly. But because companies actually ignore that, trouble happens inside their servers because I believe that only immature people react bad enough to report someone because of some curse word. Come on, it's the XXI century and you can see brutal and violent scenes during the news at dinner time...

I totally agree with your opinion Calindor, and that's why I really enjoyed Lineage. I could do whatever I wanted to. Kill steal a mob, buff him to make a guy drop gear, chat whatever I wanted, give my characters the nicknames I would find suitable. People can feel offended with stuff they read on magazines, do they report it to court?

Players have been spoiled over the last years. Long hail L2 and its community!

I agree, WoW is way too "safe4kids" of an mmo. As much as I cheer for the freedom to do what you want when you make a character, the only thing I dont like is when it interfere's with my own enjoyment of the game. I say, name your character whatever you want, just dont make a stupid name and spam stupid stuff everywhere, its not hard to tell how some people are by the names alone on occassion . But thats the price for the freedom!

As long as your having fun, i'm having fun ^^. As long as your having a good time, I am too. Just dont be a "troll" in the game pweese! :P

Numbers shouldn't be allowed in names, period. However, I would appreciate spaces and single quotes. They really should disallow special characters (anything that requires you to use an alt code or copy/paste) and punctuation marks (other than the single quote). I still have to create my name though....

This topic brings me to a entertaining story...

Back when I played FFXI, my friend decided about after 1.5 years of watching me play he wanted to play as well. When he was making his character he asked me for some advice on names and all I said was "Don't make your toon's name a FF name". Well he didn't listen and make "Cloudstrife" thinking he was gonna be cool and everyone would like him and give him props for his name

Well from the moment he started to about 2 weeks later EVERYONE mocked and made fun of him and he deleted his toon and made a new one. His new name was.....Bra?!

He still plays to this day with the name Bra. The lesson at hand is be original and don't name your toon after a piece of clothing a woman wears. It's not cool, especially if your a male in real life.
