That's a great idea as well! EQ2 has all that too, you can write a biography of yourself and there's a window that displays all your stats ect.. Also in games that have last names, the last name is purely for RP and aesthetic reasons. But the first name is the only thing that appears in searches and in groups ect.. And if you don't like to see names that are 20 feet long over people's heads, toggle off floaty names. I always do, I only see what people's names are if I mouse over them or target them.

Just a thought on how you could make this last name system work on an evolved level. I got the feeling the conversation was expanding into something bigger then just last names, but born from that idea

SWG was like that when you examined a player. And the first name had to be unique and that was how you would send /tells and what not.

Why anyone is against an optional last name system is beyond me. If you don't like don't use. Problem solved.

I think they shouldn't force a dual name either, in GW you had to split your name, and it actually eliminated the option to have a single name. Rather, I would appriciate the option to put in at least 16-18 characters, with the option of using spaces as a character. This allows you to make dual or split names, or single names, fairly long names, and even use single spaces (not a chain of spaces) as an easy name differentiator instead of trying to put numbers in or something to get the kind of name you want to utilize.

Yea, give the player an option of spaces. Perhaps limiting the number of spaces to 2 or 3, and having like you said 16-18 characters long. I personally prefer single names, but would love to have the option available for all players who wish to use such a feature ^^

i have a question

if you delete all asmodea characters or all elyos characters on a single realm will you be able to create the opposite faction on that realm because if not its going to be lame deciding with my friends if we are already mixed on all the realms and cant play with each other

I would guess you can create characters on either side, not sure why they wouldnt let you do that. Unless they wanted to keep it a type of 1 choice realm to prevent spying on other players or whatever

But I dont think they are going to do that, my guess of course.

in wow they had PvE (changed to Normal) servers where you could make both horde and ally on the one server it was on PvP servers you cant create both I'm kinda bummed that they don't offer the PvP or PvE servers because i prefer my raider to be on a PvE server than a PvP server

they said that when you start on a server you choose Asmodian or Elyos and you can only create that type of character on the realm so its only going to be 1 faction per realm i just wanted to know if i could change it so when i delete all my Asmodian's on a realm i can play Elyos

i would like to see a few worlds were they are neutral in that you wont be ganked all the time unless you turn PvP on and on these realms you can create both just like in wow for the playeres that hate pvp (but then again why would you play aion?? so pvp orientated) but i would put my main raider on a PvE realm by choice and the other characters on pvp
