You should be able to plug in keyboards in the usb ports for the 360 and PS3, a quick google and it seems you can buy adapters for the 360. And I've seen the Ps3 keyboard at the computer store here.

After heavy thinking, I don't want Aion on consoles, when I used to. Phew, I've changed so much. I used to 1) Hate WoW and spit on it like everyone else 2) Wonder why MMO's don't come to consoles 3) Believe in a bunch of stupid crap.

Anyways, it can't work well. Aion's way too big and complicated for consoles (mostly the complicated part), it's too point-and-click, a controller just can't work with it. And if some type of stupid console-mouse is/has been created for a game like this, you'd need a platform (table of sorts), and... well... a bunch of other crap... I don't feel like talking smartsy-wartsy at the moment.

To play an MMO on a console effectively you'd have to play like you were on a computer anyhow (FF11).

FFXI was originally for PS2.

But anyways, I think it's just another opportunity for NCSoft to make use of that deal they've got with Sony.

Besides, just because it was originally developed for a PC doesn't exclude it from being viable on a console. In fact, it would probably be the economical solution for players to buy it for PS3, since you get all that power for less than the cost of a PC. All you need to buy is a USB keyboard and mouse. Or even Bluetooth, since the console supports it. I'm all for it. I'm still getting it for PC, but I think it's a great idea from a marketing perspective.

And that doesn't mean they have to play on separate servers either. Since they would have the same means to play the game, there is no advantage for one over the other.

Come to think of it, if Aion came to PS3, it would

1) Substantially boost PS3 sales because it would most likely be automatically run on the highest graphical output, and we all know Aion will be one of the best things come to MMORPG.

2) Add tons and tons more subscribers to Aion.

3) Yeah, make big use of NCsofts and Sony's partnership.

But, I don't think it's possible at all. Well, it's possible... but not possible, y'know?

The 'Aion is too complicated' argument isn't working so far. And the issue of not having a surface upon which one could place a mouse and keyboard is incredibly easy to solve. Come to think of it, I think that would be a great marketing idea for Sony, once they get some more NCSoft games on their console. Make keyboard and mouse combo with a lap-rest. And if you've been following the news lately, PS3 sales have been picking up hella steam. It's outsold the 360 for months now. Except for one month in which is was outsold by the SLIGHTEST of margins.

I'm not saying it's not possible because of anything that has to do with the PS3's capabilities... well, sort of. It's just the style of MMO that Aion is. Mass-scale, huge, wide, fast-paced combat, and all that stuff is hard when put on a console. FFXI worked so perfectly because the game was a lot simpler, the D-pad was enough to target everything. That won't work on something like Aion. And having to buy a console-compatible mouse is a hindrance, not a benefactor. It's an extra something that will keep people away from the game on a console. Like how not many PS3 owners bought UT3 because they knew super fast-paced, large scale combat like that isn't good for a console controller, and buying a mouse is more like being mandatory than optional. Rofl, not only that, then you'll have to find, or buy a stool low enough, yet wide enough for your mouse and keyboard.

That's what I mean. And I know the PS3's been outselling the 360. It's selling rate has been higher than the 360's selling rate since its launch, meaning it's sold more copies in a shorter time period than the 360. The only problem for the PS3 is time, not limits.

Control configuration is a small problem. But you seem to be stuck on the prospect that you would have to play it on a controller, since a keyboard/mouse is so 'unfeasible'. And I find it hard to believe that citing keyboard and mouse compatibility would make it hard for people to enjoy the same experience as a PC player. If it's USB it will work. Hell, even Bluetooth would work. And it would probably work better. The only hindrance I see is with USB-wireless keyboards and mice which would require software, which a PS3 could not use. i own a ps3, i got it duty free with a discount from my sister working at the airport and going on a holiday it rules. but i currently have a computer that will play aion just not very well without another few hundred dollars of upgrades that i really cant afford

that and my tv is 5 times as big as my computer screen.

also if i upgrade 1 computer i may as well upgrade all 5 and multi box ( i am saving to do this) also it means when my computer will run aion ill buy my little brother an account and he wont have a reason to touch my computers.
