everyone want to be Elyos?
Ive been posting and reading Aion Source the last few weeks and you get a nice option in profile management to pick the race you intend to be, now as ive been reading away i always try and catch a look at what race peeps have picked and a massive majority at guess have picked Elyos, leaving me being only one of the bad guys around as so to speak.
But what interests me in this will it end up being like WoW where the majority are Alliance, as a example i will post the server stats on the server i played in wow, these a few months old. Quote:

Go check a PVP Server. Horde out numbers alliance on PVP server 90% of the time. Next neither races in Aion are good or bad. They are just people. Asmodians just happen to look cooler. Way cooler.

I don't know. Really it depends on the kind of people to play; I don't know if Aion will attract WoW's userbase. I think it will be fairly evenly spread out; the problem (one of them) I saw with WoW's factions is that if you wanted to play on the darker side, you had to endure ugly areas or more difficult starting areas (not so much with the last one, but BC expansion gave the Horde a "pretty" race, which actually ended up annoying me more than not having one.) Since both the Elyos and the Asmodian sides appear to be beautiful from the screenshots (a different sort of beauty for each, of course. Dark vs light.) and hopefully evenly-matched in the difficulty curve, then I suspect you'll see a fairly even number for each side. But I suppose we won't know until it comes out. :P

I tried to play alliance in wow , i couldn't stand it . horde all the way. Blizzard giving the horde a pretty race was retarded, a big reason i stop playing wow all in all.

*cough* Anyway, back on topic. I personally hope that there won't be an overwhelming number for either side. It was really annoying playing Horde on a PVE server and not running into another player except in cities (and only one city anyway) for the first 20-30 levels. PVP was another story, of course. |

I'm almost 100% convinced we'll see history from WoW repeat itself in Aion: Elyos (Alliance) will initially outnumber Asmodians (Horde) but Asmodians will dominate PVP whenever they don't get bulldozered by superior numbers. Eventually people on the Elyos side will grow tired of always losing, so they start rolling new Asmodian characters, which is when the populations will start to slowly balance out.
I'm not sure I'd bet a whole lot of money on this prediction, but I'd be tempted to. ![]() |

The Chosen all the way.
and even Angels vs Demons way back when...when the Asmodians were just a silhouette in some concept art. ![]() Don't start any "WTF i want demons back threads". Coz they fail. Like the OP's.

According to US Realm Stats - WarcraftRealms.com the alliance to horde ratio across all servers is 1.1:1. On my realm horde outnumbers alliance sadly; makes less gnomes to kill.

One thing people are worried about is this strange choice to let the two different races lvl up at different speeds. The main advantage for Elyos is the faster lvling at higher lvls. This means ALOT of saved time lvling your characters, especially after they raise the lvl limits in later patches/chapters. Only the sick/retarded/chosen, lol, would want to get less xp for thieir time with little to no benefit for that time.
They should have both races lvl at the same rate so it then becomes a matter of preference or role playing as to which side you'll choose. |
