If I thought NCsoft had any significant hand in GW I wouldn't even bother thinking about mentioning suggestions, Arena.net is so damn lazy that the gameplay just shot downhill, with all those worthless and monotinous skills.

I'd be glad if they actually read some suggestions and implemented some changes, but if all they listen to is public outcry and make silly changes to bend to popularity instead of coming up with innovations and gameplay improvements to solve problems, than it makes not difference, same as Arena.net

We have these "Suggestion Phase" threads, but will the ideas we come up with in them ever actually get implemented by the Aion Team, Studio 5, in Korea?.
I don't really see how having a suggestion phase is so valuable when we are only allowed to suggest common rips from other games, it's not like we are going to offer another innovation like free flight when some closed mind is seperating anything original and only offering up mods from existing games, rather pointless.

And from what I vaguely recollect from Aions first pitch, they hadn't offered up free flight, and were not sure if they would, it isn't like they didn't think of it. Unless we are going to push for more game innovations which really sepearte Aion from other current advancements, we really can't be upset if the don't bother to come around, I mean have you looked at the suggestion phase?, how many of those ideas arn't just from some other game?

Ayase, I just want to say I love you

NCsoft had a bad rep with their last MMO here called Lineage 2, Developer feedback was non existent and customer service was like a deaf man talking to a blind dog. NCsoft has a lot to live up to considering the bad rep they have gotten here in US/Europe with L2. So more than likely many people here are just concerned.

I just wanted to thank you for actually getting involved with the community though and asking us questions and answering ours etc. It really does say a lot, I hope developer/customer interaction stays on it's current course even after the game releases ^^

Can we compare NCsoft response history to any other MMO which was actually better? Arena.net had little and worthless response, FFXI was given over to Sony to do all tech support and localizing in the US, ensuring nothing would get done and SE would hear nothing from the gamers. How are WoW and other MMOs?, or are we comparing NCsoft to 1 or 2 remote MMOs which actually respond relavently to their consumers, because I didn't know it was a staple.

Earth and Beyond was run by westwood before EA bought htem and ruined it, then shut it down premature. I never waited more than 15 mins to talk to a GM. The devs were online every week implementing new storyline features (they actually wrote the story fo the game based on things and events the players did). Something like asking a person to transfer gear, and them keeping it and ignoring you could be resolved by you posting a screen shot to a GM, him checking the item log, taking the items back from that player and then giving that player a warning/temp ban.

And Ayase like Amanda Hugnkiss said, we appreciate what you are doing, but NCSoft in the past did not do any of these things you claim they are doing now, its hard to believe so. Did NCSoft Austin have a hand in anything done with L2. Did our bug filled L2 open beta solve anything other than server stress testing? Chars werent wiped after L2 OB because of fear that people would not continue their subscriptions because rerolling would be too hard. That was where NCSoft Austins short sighted greed started and slowly went down hill from there.

Can you post examples of anything NCSoft EU/NA did in retlation to developing Aion. Has there been any changes, or are there any planned to the game based on feedback from fansites like Aionsource? We have nothing but NCSofts word that they are doing stuff like this and listening to players, but unfortunately their word hasnt meant much in the past. So we dont trust it right now, and I am expecting Aion to take a simliar path/business model to L2 until I get proven otherwise.

These posts depress me. Is NCsoft and Arena.net really that bad?

WoW listened to the players relatively well and it seems like NCsoft would to if they took the suggestion of free flight and ran with it, but hell if I know. Aion looks like a great game, I hope it is not ruined by poor PR.

Wouldn't those two above quoted sentences contradict eachother?

Just a thought.

Well, I'm not sure it's just that easy in any game now days - screenshots, manipulation and all that.

All I can do to reassure you, I suppose, is to refer you to some of the other games we are providing support for here in the office, namely Tabula Rasa or City of Heroes/Villains. From that starting point - we're only looking to improve.

We are all involved with this one. Aion is a really big thing for us, so of course we're interested in the long-term well-being of the game.

What I can say in regards to your wishes and ideas for the game; you're going to have to take my word for it that we're recording them and consider them an invaluable resource. Having that said, I can't promise the implementation of any one mechanism, mainly due to the fact that the developers have a pretty solid vision for the game. The focus right now is to get it done, and to get it done right. This does in no way mean, however, that there won't soon be a time with more possibilities to branch out. There are plenty of good ideas stemming from this community. My boss is breathing down my neck to carefully and accurately take it in - and I definitely am.

There is more to a game than the core development.

Actually it's not slight at all. It allowed you to completely dodge the issue presented in that whole paragraph.
